We had the good fortune of connecting with Alice Foy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alice, is there something you believe many others might not?
“Jack of all trades, master of none.” It is a MYTH! My career has allowed me the opportunity to use my skills and expertise in a wide variety of industries and roles. It is possible to be a master of multiple things; we really need to ditch the old mindset that to achieve mastery in our careers, we have to do one thing for 40 years. In my career, I have developed innate skills that have created opportunities for me in event production, running an agency, and dabbling in hospitality.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Digital Jane is a virtual business support agency for women founders; Our team offers virtual assistance and business support to service providers. Starting the company came with it’s share of challenges, finding the right team members and learning how to set us apart from other virtual providers. I will say, as we started to do the work, it all happened organically. We have since supported marketing agencies, attorneys, PR Professionals, and Public Figures. Every day is different and unique.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many things to do and see in LA, here are a few of my favorites! I would make sure we kick off the week with a chill evening of good food, drinks, and music at BlaqHaus in North Hollywood, it’s Black-owned and such a vibe! I would then plan a little picnic in the park or a beach day in Malibu with a stop at Rosenthal’s wine patio. I would make sure my friends know that there are a lot of cool things to do and see that aren’t in Hollywood, as a local now, I never go there! lol
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Chef Cliff Rome and The Parkway Ballroom team! Thank you for creating an intentional space for me to learn and develop my attention to detail, leadership skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. You are forever appreciated!
