We had the good fortune of connecting with Alina Fridman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alina, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is that I am open to new opportunities and am not afraid of taking risks. I don’t want to live a life of “what if?”. I’ve interviewed many women on my podcast, Ladies Take the Lead, and a common thread that I see is that when they all let go of that fear which was holding them back, success was just around the corner. It’s hard to face our fears because the truth is that every time we face them, we are opening the door to the unknown and that can be scary. However, when we embrace those fears and see them as an obstacle that stands between us and opportunity, we have to decide what’s more important; the fear or the opportunity. If you don’t face that fear, you’re closing the door to opportunity. I choose to focus on the opportunity because the opportunity is much greater than the fear itself.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder of Ladies Take the Lead. I am also a creative entrepreneur, content creator, podcast producer & host, and mom to two awesome boys. I have one simple goal, to live my best life. With a background and passion for art, I opened my first business in my late twenties. It was this fantastic boutique event design studio where I utilized my creativity and imagination to bring my client’s vision to life. I managed to scale my small business into a full-service event production company producing unique and spectacular events for my clients. My specialty was curating unforgettable memories. Well over a decade of events later and a back injury that left me seeking new opportunities, I launched Ladies Take the Lead. I wanted to create a space for strong, passionate, and driven women of all ages to come together and leverage their collective energy into business opportunities. I was inspired to create this platform because I realized the power of community from the experiences and the connections I made with my clients (mostly female) as well as my event industry partners. The Ladies Take the Lead platform celebrates, inspires, educates, and entertains women through creative, insightful content and events with a purpose. As a creative entrepreneur, I have built image positive brands in a niche market and continue building upon my empire. I provide creative marketing solutions for small brands and collaborate on various projects with other companies. I love connecting with the Ladies Take the Lead community as much as possible and hold a variety of informative workshops and networking events online, produce an interview series on Instagram called Real Talk with Real Women, run a Facebook Group and I host a weekly podcast called Ladies Take the Lead where I celebrate Boss Ladies. I’m one busy boss lady and wouldn’t have it any other way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is a great city to live in and visit. It’s a dream destination with endless sunshine, things to see and do. From beaches to hiking trails, shopping to nightlife, we have it all. Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world. There are so many studios that you can tour such as Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, Paramount Pictures, or Sony Pictures. We also have great museums such as LACMA, the California Science Center, the Natural History Museum, and Getty Center. Los Angeles is one of the best cities to shop in like the LA Fashion District in Downtown LA, The Grove, Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and of course Beverly Hills. We have a lot of great dining options as well from sushi to burgers and even a cupcake ATM by Sprinkles. It’s so LA.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I do everything for my two boys. They are the loves of my life and being a mom to them has been an inspiration, honor, and privilege. It’s an amazing experience that has taught me so much and what life is all about.
