We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Cadrette and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking a risk in business is important and necessary. I used to be so afraid to take risks and as soon as I let go of the fear, great things started to fall into place. I try to be as calculated with risks as I can.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hair is the crown you wear every day and can’t take off. After over a decade in the luxury beauty industry, I’ve had the privilege of turning my creative visions into reality for my clients—an honor that comes from earning their trust. My favorite part of being an artist in this field is witnessing the transformation that happens when someone looks in the mirror and feels empowered and unstoppable because of my work. It’s an incredible feeling, especially when clients tell me they’ve never felt so confident before.
However, getting to this point wasn’t easy. With 11 years in the industry, I’ve learned that staying on top requires continuous learning. I’m always taking classes and refining my techniques. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that no matter how tough things get, persistence is key. You can’t give up if you want to excel
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were hosting a friend for a week in LA, we’d explore the best of the city, starting with Downtown LA’s museums and rooftop dining, then hitting Hollywood for iconic sights and a hike at Griffith Park. We’d enjoy a beach day in Santa Monica and Venice, followed by a day trip to Malibu for hiking, beach time, and a sunset dinner. A museum day at LACMA and shopping in Beverly Hills would add some culture and luxury. We’d pick either Universal Studios or Disneyland for a fun-filled day, and wrap up the trip by exploring the Arts District before heading home.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I moved to LA and my career really started to take off thanks to the owners of Bomane salon Andrea and Sonny Henty. They saw something in me, believed in me and supported me with my process of moving my career to Los Angeles!
