We had the good fortune of connecting with Ally Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ally, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Growing up in a small town in New Hampshire, community has always meant a lot to me. In my town, everyone knew everyone, and you did things out of the kindness of your heart expecting nothing in return. Every holiday my family would be giving our neighbors and friends baked goods to help bring some cheer, and it made me so happy to be able to provide even a little bit of cheer over the holidays with my baking. Moving out to LA after college, I knew I wanted to continue to provide that joy even if it wasn’t a full time job, and being able to connect to customers that continue to come back to my food stand, and bring a sense of community out to this large city, gives me more joy than I could ever ask for!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Despite baking being my first love, I have a degree in Media & Communications as well. This bakery business is my side job, and from 9-5 M-F I work at a record label in the international marketing department, so finding a balance between work and relaxation has been a challenge. Baking has always been the best stress relief for me and It has immensely improved my mental health and my ability to focus in my day to day job, and I am so lucky to also have amazingly supportive coworkers that will taste test and devour any baked goods I bring in. I would love every woman out there to know that even when something feels insurmountable, you will never know until you try! Luckily, so far this endeavor has turned out amazing for me and I cannot emphasize enough how lucky I feel to have such amazing support by my coworkers and friends.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh boy. This is a TOUGH one! We would have to hike Runyon with my sweet pup one morning, and follow it up with some breakfast/pastries/drinks at Alcove in Los Feliz. Of course we’d have to stop by Spitfire Girl right next door for some fun trinkets. Another morning we’d have to stop by Beachwood cafe (I am a BIG brunch fan) and then walk around the Americana and people watch. Another fun destination would have to be playing some Skee-Ball and taking some Photo Booth photos at All Seasons Brewery!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my mother and grandfather. Ever since I was a little girl they encouraged me to bake and explore with foods, and just all around have fun! They inspired me to love baking the way I do and my mother continues to support me to this day. I know my grandfather would be so proud of me as he passed a few years ago.
