Meet ALYNN JUNG | Korean Lash Lift Expert & Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with ALYNN JUNG and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ALYNN, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I believe the most important factor behind my success has been my dedication to mastering one specific niche, Korean lash lift. Instead of trying to offer every type of beauty service, I focused entirely on becoming the best at one thing.
I made it my mission to deeply understand not just how to create a nice curl, but how to analyze each client’s eye shape and lash condition, regardless of their ethnicity or lash type, to deliver consistently flawless, customized results. I’ve spent years studying and refining my technique to ensure long-lasting beauty that complements each individual.
Another big part of my success has been building genuine relationships with my clients and students. I never gatekeep my methods. I share everything I know, through detailed online courses, product tutorials, and honest feedback. Because I believe the more value I provide, the more trust I earn.
My growth came from staying focused on one path and being authentic, even when things weren’t perfect.

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my lash business about three and a half years ago, at a time when lash lifts weren’t well known, especially in the U.S. While the service was already trending in Korea, it hadn’t gained much attention here yet. But I had a strong feeling that if I introduced the Korean technique properly, it could really take off. So I went all in.
It all began in my living room, with just a single bed and a few friends willing to be free models so I could practice. Soon after, I moved into a small mini suite and started taking a few clients while working on perfecting my technique. I studied Korean lash lift methods in depth and tested countless perm solutions, shields, and application styles. I didn’t just want a nice curl. I wanted results that suited every unique eye shape and lash type, regardless of ethnicity or lash condition. My focus was always on delivering consistent, natural-looking lifts that last, grow out cleanly, and earn trust.
Within a short time, my appointments were fully booked and I eventually opened my own studio. I continued growing steadily, mainly through referrals. Many of my clients have told me that my lifts last longer, fit their eye shape better, and grow out more cleanly than others they’ve tried. That kind of feedback helped me build a solid foundation without major setbacks.
As my reputation grew, I began getting messages from lash artists who wanted to learn my method. That led me to start offering in-person trainings. Few of my regular clients even became my students. But when I started getting inquiries from places like Australia and other U.S. states, I realized I needed something more accessible for artists who couldn’t travel.
Korean lash lift is often referred to as a glue-less or no-glue lash lift, but what really sets it apart isn’t just the absence of glue, it’s the way we check the softening stage during the process. This method delivers far more consistent and predictable results than traditional techniques.
Of course, creating the perfect curl is important, but no result will ever be 100% perfect every time. What matters most is knowing how to fix it when it doesn’t go as planned. Many of my clients have told me that at other salons, if the lift didn’t turn out well, they were just told things like “it’s your lash cycle” or “your lashes are too strong,” or were advised to just brush the lashes down. That kind of response left them disappointed.
Through years of experience, I’ve learned not just how to create great lifts, but how to troubleshoot and fix them. I believe that’s a critical part of being a true professional and I made sure to include this in my online course.
The idea of creating an online course had been in the back of my mind, but it took a lot of time, effort, and trial and error to bring it to life. Finally, in January of this year, I launched both my online course and a full lash lift kit. It’s still a new chapter, but I’ve fully committed to it. It’s exciting, challenging, and honestly, really fun.
Now, estheticians who live nearby often come to my salon first as clients and end up purchasing both the course and kit right after experiencing the results. Others find me through Instagram or TIktok, see my work, and reach out to learn. Korean lash lift has become a global trend and I’m so grateful and excited to be part of it. I believe the interest will only continue to grow.
I’m still learning and evolving every day, but my mission stays the same: to share this beautiful technique and help more artists build successful and joyful lash lift businesses, just like I’ve been able to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d definitely take them to Long Beach, one of my favorite places to relax and enjoy good food and views. We’d start the day on 2nd Street, grabbing a Mint Mojito coffee from Philz coffee. it’s super refreshing and one of my all-time favorites. I love walking down that street, there’s such a good vibe with all the cute shops, friendly people, and so many adorable dogs out for a stroll.
After that, we’d drive up to Hilltop Park in Signal Hill. It’s one of those peaceful spots where you can lay down a picnic blanket, feel the gentle breeze, and just take in the panoramic view of Long Beach. On clear days, you can even see downtown LA and the ocean in one glance.
For dinner, I’d take them to The 908, their 908 burger is insanely good, and the lobster roll is another favorite. I always get the cocktail called “So Much Drama” it’s my go-to and never disappoints.
Whether it’s coffee, views, or a great meal, Long Beach has this mix of chill and charm that I’d want my friend to experience to the fullest.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a big shoutout to my husband.
Back then, he was just my boyfriend, and I was starting my very first tiny business, not knowing anything, really. I was figuring things out in a whole new country, and English wasn’t even comfortable for me yet. Everything felt overwhelming.
But he was always there. He supported me, encouraged me, and helped me see things more clearly when I was stuck. I was doing things the scrappy way at first, just trying to make it work, but he helped me build real systems, like setting up a booking system, creating a website, and running things more professionally.
I honestly don’t think I’d have grown this fast without him. He’s been my biggest cheerleader, my guide, and truly the person who gave me the strength to keep going. I’m so grateful for everything he’s done for me.
