We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Erixon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Since I started school I have always liked the arts related classes and subjects. I needed a space to create and they always made me feel inspired and fullfilled. I used to play a lot in imaginary realities as a child and I have been told I believed in my fantasy world without a doubt and made it extremely vivid. I started singing more and I found my way to choirs and later in life I worked as a singer and entertainer abroad. Somewhere along the way through the musical theatre repertoar I decided that I actually wanted to go to acting school and pursue that carreer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Besides from acting and performing I’ve always had an interest for travelling and people. I think what I am most proud of in my arts is that I have taken risks by moving to several new countries and it turned out that was exactly what was right for me as it also gave me stories to tell. It gave me lots of self discovery as well as knowledge about different cultures and ways of communicating and walk through life. What made me get to where I am today is because I didn’t limit myself or let fear of failure take over.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I’m borned and raised in Sweden which is a great but pretty cold country I would spend most of my time by the beach. I would rent a car and take a day trip to Malibu, I would go on a hike to the Griffith Observatory just to get a chance to see the whole city. I would stay at Dream Hotel in West Hollywood and I wouldn’t wanna miss at least one dinner at Catch LA.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While I was studying a musical theatre program in my hometown, Stockholm I met with a teacher and vocal coach who I started taking one-on-one classes with. She didn’t only strengthen my singing and vocal skills but she also taught me a lot about the entertainment industry and prepared me for challenges ahead. She also helped me navigate in other aspects of life as a young adult and pushed that dreamer that I was to trust my instincts and go for it.
