We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business and being an entrepreneur isn’t necessarily something I grew up knowing I wanted to do. It wasn’t something I heard about when I was younger, seen modeled for me or even had presented as an option. Entrepreneurship came from personal growth, time and the creativity within me. It started as a dream to just leave my mark on the world by creating a simple logo and having a few t-shirts or stickers, but as I grew, so did the dream. The thought process behind starting my business came from a loss in my life and became centered around time and freedom. My dad passed away when I was 21, an age where you’re still young and believe you have all the time in the world. When my dad passed, things progressed so quickly that there wasn’t a lot of time to even process what was happening. Losing my dad woke me up and made me realize that tomorrow’s not really promised and that I really needed to value my time. When starting my own businesses I did it with the mindset of gaining my time back and thus finding freedom. Freedom of time, freedom of creativity and freedom to build a business based on the values I cherish the most. I watched my dad work two jobs, which took up most of his time for years, yet he missed out on being present for the bigger things and never really got to enjoy his life. I didn’t want to follow in those footsteps, I decided to break generational cycles and start working towards the freedom of time I desired while simultaneously knowing that I was working to create a legacy. That’s what LOV Vibes has been for me. LOV Vibes stands for Life Of Victory and through the business I am using my resources as a licensed financial professional and creative, to be victorious in my life while aiding others in creating a life of victory for themselves. I’ve always wanted what I do in life or my career to help others in some way. It took a while and I obtained a couple degrees in a completely different field thinking that was the way but I found another and it has been so rewarding.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is the fact that I’m not just a brand offering items but I’m also a financial professional who can offer you tips, tools and ideas on how to move you into a better space in your financial life as well. Advice is free and I love that I have a brand that provides options and gives more value than what may be expected. LOV Vibes was truly birthed through prayer and a conversation. It’s something I had been praying about for months but didn’t really know how to make reality. I finally moved from my place of fear and realized that what I wanted to do and how I wanted to help, it was bigger than me so I had to start making moves. Within a couple weeks I had my first 100 shirts ordered and I started working on my branding, business vision, etc so that I could launch. It wasn’t always easy and some days things felt completely overwhelming and made me wonder was I taking on something out of my league. Through it all I persevered because it was everything I prayed for and I couldn’t throw in the towel and forget the vision now just because it was hard. I overcame by staying planted around great mentorship, talking with other small business owners and realizing that so much growth was coming out of this process and I needed to share that with others who may be in the same position. I want the world to know that LOV Vibes was truly created to promote a life of victory in every aspect of the word and I would love to help be a part of that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend in LA they would know that tacos is the way to my heart, so I’m taking them to my favorite taco spot Tacos El Oso fresh off the plane and then head to our destination. We would stay at Calamigos Ranch and Beach Club to enjoy some of the many amenities they have to offer. The Ranch has an amazing restaurant but to have dinner with an incredible view, we would head over to the Sunset Restaurant. Throughout the week I would plan Skating at Venice, Jet Skiing in Newport and maybe a party or two at the W or the Burrow. Grandma’s Thai Kitchen is also a favorite and I feel like a must try especially if you’re feeling spicy food. We would finish the week with a cute paint and sip situation with art from Pastel Rae.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to everyone who has supported me through a purchase, suggestion, referral, social media post, etc. I am truly grateful for you all going on this journey with me to create a brand with impact. Also to my mentors in business who have helped me change my mindset and work harder to give the world something incredible, because being an entrepreneur is really a gift. It’s not all about us as the business owners but really about those we get to service and help along the way. Lastly, shout out to the individuals who actively seek small businesses to support. You are amazing and it is not taken for granted one bit.
