We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Kimura and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsey, how do you think about risk?
I believe that stretching beyond the edges of one’s comfort zone can lead to healthy growth and expansion. When moving into unknown territory and firmly rooting in self, balance is present and wisdom is accessed. A harmonious state of being and anchoring in the wisdom of our bodies allows our actions to be intuitive and aligned. In darkness and spaciousness, more possibility is possible. Action that stretches us can result in the realization of more potential. I think perceived risk varies for each person. For me, financial stability has always been important so the biggest risk I have taken in life is leaving a full time job without knowing what was next. What felt like a risk at one point was rewarded with the blessings of freedom, alignment with self, creative self expression and connection with a consulting business I managed to start within the year of leaving. This was 2014. Now risk arises for growth. Without a challenge or moving into the unknown, not much evolution happens. The role risk currently plays in my life is its ability to prompt growth, transformation, mastery and evolution.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Clarity and Conscious Soul Guide. I guide and empower leaders and creatives to birth and grow their soul-aligned businesses. The current work I offer is a synthesis of my previous work in which I pull from various fields of experience. By helping people personally and with their businesses, I derive wisdom and knowledge from my marketing and business development background along with all that sports, yoga, energy healing, reading and metaphysical practices have entailed. If someone feels like they are in an open space and not sure what direction they want to go in, I work with them to see more of themselves and who they are at subtler levels. I like to refer to this aspect as the soul self. From this as the set point or foundation, a vision of their business can arise. Next steps come designing the blueprint and a step by step launch. Most of my clients are already entrepreneurs who often are looking to take their businesses to the next level of consciousness through refined or new structure and practices. In sum, I help people who are in the space of birthing a new business or current business owners who are either looking to innovate their business or perhaps start a new one.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In LA I have a secret beach and magical hiking trail in which you can overlook the valley from one end and ocean on the other. There are majestic rocks and energy vortexes like those found in Joshua Tree or the redwood forests. We would spend most the day outdoors and I would bring delicious food for a picnic. We would build an impromptu earth altar and perform a spontaneous ritual together. We would also bring a nice camera and take photos in nature at golden hour and have an outdoor dance party!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out to my parents who by being themselves have allowed me to be who I am today. My parents have always done their best to make sure I was happy whether that was through providing education, taking me to sports practice, making sure me and my brother had everything we needed and for always wanting the best for us. I feel sometimes it is easy to not see eye to eye with our parents or to have different beliefs generationally speaking and based on the times. I always remember that we chose our parents and loving and appreciating them regardless of beliefs systems or differences is key for unity.
