We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Kahle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
We founded our company based on the idea of finding space for quiet time. We live in a distracted world where everyone is glued to their phones. Using your brain in a different and creative way makes you feel better. Doing that with people you love, even better.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started as a fashion show producer in NY. It was tough to get in as an assistant because I knew no one in the industry but I figured it out. The rest of my career as a producer was basically me just figuring it out and finding mentors along the way to help. When we decided to start a small business, we knew with that production experience plus Chris’s creative experience, we would be a great team.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We live on the west side because its just so beautiful. The east side has beckoned to us over the years, it seems like its where all of our new friends we meet live, but the west side has the beach!! My best friend actually lives in Silver Lake. So when she graces our doorstep on the westside, we usually go on a hike at Los Liones or Temescal, hit the beach at Topanga Beach, maybe get take out at Cholada Beach Thai. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends, who support what I do wholeheartedly and have always answered the phone when I need help. Also our kiddos, for without them we wouldn’t have been as inspired to create a family business.
