We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Ma and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Having a solid vision, mission, and core values for the company. And make sure it’s communicated to the client and team. Our big picture vision is where we are heading as a team. The mission is how we do it and core values are elements that help us get there with success. We use these elements in our hiring practices and also how we carry out our service.
Our vision is to help fuel brands that change lives for the better.
Our core values are
• Give Service with WOW
• Uphold Integrity
• Be Proactive
• Grow and Develop
• Cultivate Fun + Engagement
• Inspire Imagination+ Innovation
We are not just an events company, we are a relationship company.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are an award-winning event experience agency based in Los Angeles (live, hybrid, & virtual) and we love nothing more than creating immersive experiences to help brands connect with their customers. We work with clients across a whole variety of industries, ranging from financial and technology to hotels and the automotive industry, among others. It means we know how to make an impact, no matter the setting. From event strategy, event management to execution we help turn your vision into reality. What makes us different:
Excellent Customer Service- Yes, everyone says they have great customer service. But this continuously shows up in the client survey as a result of the team’s dedication to excellence here at Innovate Marketing Group.
Diversity- Our team is diverse and so are the suppliers we use. We have been diverse since we started this company. Not because it was the trendy thing to do but rather the right thing to do.
Agile- In 2020, our industry was completed disrupted when the pandemic hit. Companies were closing and laying off left and right. We channeled our energy into creating a solution for our clients. We pivoted to virtual within the first three weeks of the pandemic. To date, we now have completed more than 120+ virtual events.
Innovative- The team continues to push the envelope to level up the experiences that we produce for our clients to change lives for the better.
We see the big picture clearly and get the small details right, with creative marketing events built from the ground up with every element tailored to our clients’ needs.
We create corporate events that leave a lasting impression. From immersive experiences to large-scale community events, conferences to summits, galas to meetings, we create transformative experiences, from conception to completion. We have events that we created 7 years ago that people are still talking about.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Depending on who it is I would curate the experience base on that person. But let’s say they have similar tastes as me. Then we would start with exploring Pasadena. This vibrant city is where the show Big Bang Theory was based in. Explore all the delicious restaurants, wine tasting, bars, and gardens. Restaurants: Mi Piace, Arroyo Parkway, Houstons, and others
Entertainment: The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, Kid Space Museum, etc.
Then take them to Newport Beach to stay at the Pelican Hill. A beautiful resort on the magnificent ground with golf, a spa, delicious food, and a coliseum pool. Then go experience Crystal Cove and Balboa Island. And of course, end the trip with some much-needed retail therapy at Fashion Island.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am so grateful for the many incredible mentors along the way. Whether it is official or unofficial, they all made an impact on my professional career entrepreneur journey. Special thanks to my parents, Alan, Stanley, Emily, Wayne, Trish, and my EO forum mates. One of my favorite books is 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It was a book I read for the first time in college at Boston University in a Business Management class. I continue to use so many of the practices mentioned inside this book. And now I give this book away to future young professional talents as they embark on their career journey.
