Meet Amber Wyche: CEO, Pray 4 Fashion

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Wyche and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m originally from southwest Philadelphia. I didn’t grow up poor, but as I got older I realized that my family did fall in the less fortunate category. However, my parents made it work, I didn’t feel any lack. I was the middle child out of three. I wouldn’t consider myself the black sheep but I was often left out by my sister and brother, which made me a little obnoxious when it came to wanting the attention of my parents and other family members. Growing up, I was involved in everything that could put me in the spotlight and show my creativity, I danced, modeled, sang on the church choir, participated in talent shows, etc. And I was pretty good at everything anything I did. That’s what gave me the confidence that I could do ANYTHING I wanted in life. Fast forward, I moved to LA at 17 years old and I went from being a big fish in a small pond to very small fish in the biggest ocean. I was no longer smartest, the best dressed, the most talented/creative person in the room. In fact, I felt like I was failing at everything during my first two years in LA. But it was in those years that I learned perseverance, hard work, going above and beyond, and most importantly faith. Those are the years that impacted me the most. By figuring out who I was outside of the validation of my family and peers I found my purpose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I launched Pray 4 Fashion in 2014. I never thought of having my own brand, back then owning a business was not as popular. Pray 4 Fashion is special because my apparel is not just writing on a t-shirt. My brand has meaning. PRAY 4 FASHION embodies an east coast hustle with a west coast drive. PRAY 4 FASHION is a street-wear brand built on faith for the trendsetters, influencers, hustlers, and creators. We make it our mission to inspire our generation to believe in their purpose, art, and dreams by providing a style of clothing that reminds us to always choose faith over fear. Inspired by the culture that is not afraid to stand up for what they believe in. Building a brand is not easy, and even today I wouldn’t say I’m where I want to be. But one thing I pride myself in never giving up. I stay consistent and true to who I am and what I stand for, despite what others are doing to gain success. I continue to overcoming the challenges I’m faced with by living out my purpose. I can’t have a motivational street-wear brand that promotes faith if I let losses and obstacles deter me from getting to where I want to be. I thing Pray 4 Fashion has taught me is that my authenticity will make way for me. I want the world to know that Pray 4Fashion was built, brick by brick, by one girl who had a dream and continues to give it everything she has.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, I love to shop. So I’d take my best friend to Rodeo, The Grove, Melrose, and some of my hidden gems that I won’t list. After shopping, my favorite thing to do is eat. Roscoes is an LA staple so we’d definitely go there. A few of my other favorite spots is JOEY Woodland Hills, Mastros (I love the one in beverly hills and malibu for different reasons so we may do both), bruch of course, I’m thinking The Ivory on Sunset, and drinks at EP + LP. I’m not big on going to clubs but I’m sure we’d find a party in the hills to crash.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This may sound cliche but I’d have to say shoutout to God. None of my success is due to man alone, God has opened doors for me that I could’ve never even dreamed of. God has given me strength that I could never conjure up on my own. Some chapters of my story end in what some might consider a miracle, but i know where my help comes from. Another honorable mention is my family, who continues to support endeavor I take on.
