Meet Amin Amirkhani | Musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amin Amirkhani and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amin, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue music because it’s the most honest way I can express the emotions I feel and observe in the world around me. Music allows me to connect deeply with others and myself. It has a healing effect, both personally and for those who listen, especially when i explore different sounds and sets with my instrument. The idea that my work could inspire or comfort someone, or simply make them feel understood, is what motivates me to stay engaged in the artistic field. For me, it’s not just about creating,it’s about communicating and making a lasting emotional impact.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My band is called The Raff. We’re an alternative rock band that started about a year ago. Since then, we’ve had the chance to perform in a few live sessions, which has been a huge part of our growth and connection as a group. Right now, we’re really excited—we’re planning to release the first single from our upcoming EP this September.
The most exciting part of being a musician, for me, is the opportunity to perform live and connect with an audience in real time. For me and my band, communication is everything it’s the foundation of our creative process. That constant exchange of ideas allows us to instantly spot what’s working and what needs improvement. I believe the strong chemistry and deep connection we share as a group really sets us apart. It not only strengthens our music but also makes every performance more authentic and powerful.
It’s definitely not easy, and if you don’t genuinely enjoy it, it’s hard to keep going. What’s helped me is breaking the work into smaller pieces and focusing on simple, achievable milestones. That mindset makes the challenges of making music feel a little more manageable. The most important lesson I’ve learned so far in my music career is that the show must go on, no matter what. Regardless of setbacks, pressure, or uncertainty, you find a way to keep moving forward.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d take them to the Hollywood Bowl. There’s something magical about hearing live music under the open sky, with the city lights in the background.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One of the most influential people in my music journey has been my sister, Sara Amirkhani. She’s an incredible artist who has always inspired me, not just with her talent, but with her courage to take bold, unconventional paths in her career. Watching her fearlessly express herself and stay true to her vision gave me the confidence to explore my own voice in art. On top of that, she has an amazing taste in music.
