We had the good fortune of connecting with Amiyah Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amiyah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a music producer, artist, and a singer/songwriter! I help people record, produce and write songs, albums, podcasts, jingles, placements for tv/commercials, and I also mix and master vocals. I believe my unique sound is what really sets me apart from other producers, musicians, and artists. I like to think that I live in the future of the sound of music. I have spent years experimenting with different sounds and genres and it has help to develop my own distinct sound. I get very excited to work with other artist, creatives, labels, production companies, and to network with others in the industry of music.
My journey has it’s challenges. There are times when I get discouraged or have my doubts, but thankfully, I am able to push through those moments and continue to grow in my craft! I have learned several lessons along the way that involve the challenges of building and maintaining a business, establishing relationships and connections, learning how to market and promote my services, and much more! Ultimately, I want the world to be inspired and impacted by my gifts; especially female entrepreneurs, producers, artists, and musicians. I want them to value the gifts, talents, and unique purpose God has given them, and find ways to creatively express their experiences in the most confident way.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I don’t take many trips! I’m an introverted military brat and the town I grew up in most of my life is rather boring. However, when I do go out, the great places to go to in my surrounding areas are Austin or Houston, Texas.
I’ve explored Houston and it’s pretty diverse with many places to eat, hang out, and have a good time! One of my favorite spots to visit is the “Turkey Leg Hut”. I like to eat! Austin is known to be the live music capital of the world and has a nice downtown area with many different things to do. Especially for creatives and musicians! Each place is filled with enjoyable activities to partake in.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out my mom, dad, and other family members that believe in me and have invested in me and my passion. I have 100 % of their support and I would not be where I am today without the strong foundation they have laid and the values they have instilled in me. I’m blessed to have all of them on this journey with me.
