We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Board and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite quote is from Joan Didion: “You have to pick the places you don’t walk away from.”
I love this because it encapsulates the importance for discernment in hard situations or relationships. A balance is always necessary but the discernment to acknowledge what really matters, what relationships truly matter to not walk away but to engage with, fight for and cherish. It’s a good reminder for me when things enviably get tough.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After working in the non-profit sector for seven years, I was thrilled to find myself back in a creative environment. I’m the Director of Patient Engagement for Believe Limited, a content agency specializing in rare, genetic diseases. I’m able to blend my advocacy and creative background to tell authentic, patient driven stories.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m new to Los Angeles and the majority of my time here has been during the pandemic so my recommendations are limited! But my favorite places are Skylight Books in Loz Feliz and Beachwood Cafe in Beachwood Canyon.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my co-workers at Believe Limited. Truly the most creative, determined, witty, engaged people I’ve ever had the chance to collaborate with.
