Meet Amy Wallace | Vocalist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote was given to me by another vocalist and I use and share it regularly. It goes, “everything has been done, but not by you.”

What this means is, we are all unique individuals. You could have two composers having to reimagine the same song and I guarantee both would be different. We all feel and express through music as individuals. Therefore, if a song has been done that resonates with you, never not do it. You can bring something completely fresh, new, and exciting! Do what you love and love what you do!

Respect and support your colleagues and other artists – make connections, collaborate and learn from one another.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a classically trained Canadian vocalist with over a decade of training and performance under her belt, who is not afraid to jump genres. While opera remains my first love, this has not stopped me from exploring other musical avenues, working alongside and gaining traction with a vast online community of composers, vocalists and musicians; vocally gaining versatility in mastering pop, film soundtrack, video game, EDM, ambient and classical music respectively.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Casa Loma in Toronto, Ontario. Casa Loma is a Gothic Revival castle-style mansion and garden that is now a historic house museum and landmark.

We also have beautiful Algonquin Park! It is very special in our Fall season when all the trees leaves turn different vibrant colors like yellow, red, and orange!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shoutout to my family and friends who have been part of this journey! I will forever be grateful to you all for your support, love, and constant belief in me!

Deep gratitude to all my fellow musicians and to the ones that I have had the honor to work with thus far! I would not be here if not for you all, giving me the opportunity to learn and work with you. Thank you all for giving me wings to soar with your beautiful music!
