Meet Anahi, Ashley & Aracely Cruz | Sister Entrepreneurs- Vida With Colores

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anahi, Ashley & Aracely Cruz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anahi, Ashley & Aracely, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Mexico has always had a special place in our hearts. Growing up, our parents would take us to their hometowns in Zacatecas and Guanajuato, and we always admired the culture. During the pandemic, we took a trip to San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, where we learned about the work and dedication that Artisans put into their craftmanship. This sparked the idea for us and wanting to help these families. We then came up with the idea of a partnership and being able to provide them with a work opportunity. Vida with Colores was created from a love of wanting to share our culture, stay connected to our roots, and support these families.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Vida With Colores is a Latina and Sister Owned business. Our business is more than just our hats; it’s about life. Vida has given us a purpose, and we want to share our culture and colores with the world. This has been a challenging journey, but it has been so rewarding to give our partners in Mexico a work opportunity. We’ve brought a piece of Mexico to the US, and it’s been an honor to see our hats representing our culture through 16 states. The support we have received is nothing we would have imagined. We are grateful for every customer who has believed in our brand and the friendships we’ve developed. We are first generation Latina-sister-owned business, and we hope to inspire others. We are paving the way and breaking generational cycles.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is filled with many authentic family-owned restaurants and food trucks, and you can never go wrong with Tacos and making a stop in Lincoln Heights with the Corn Man. We recommend visiting the Griffith Observatory, taking a picture with the Hollywood sign in the back, Santa Monica Pier, Disneyland, and El Mercadito in East La. If it’s during MLB Season, a Dodgers game is a must!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Vida with Colores could not exist without the support of our customers. We are forever grateful for all the love and support we get from them and the ability to bond over our love of Hats. Most importantly, our parents. We’ve always admired them for their strong work ethics, and they have been our business mentors and biggest cheerleaders.
