We had the good fortune of connecting with Analeia Bella Madden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Analeia Bella, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
So crazy! I am just now starting my business! It feels really fast and scary, but also really exciting and empowering. (nervous laughter)

There’s no way I can’t start my own business. My whole entire family are artistic entrepreneurs haha! It’s in my DNA! I’ve always had big dreams and ambitions and I am sooooo passionate about drawing and making clothes ;-;.
The more I am seeing what I can really make, the more i realize that – wow ok i can do this and i need to do this.

My goals are big AF, but I am confident that I can get there. I realize I will hit som bumps along the way and that’s scary, but as long as I keep learning, stay healthy, motivated, and authentic I will push through the hurdles! I have to give it a shot!!
eeeek let’s gooo!!! 😀

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art <3 is me. I like to call it street lil bo peep. My models always seem to look like dolls that have come to life, or anime characters. It’s whimsical and fun. 😀

Lots of bright colors, corsets, tutus, and i draw my own prints! My first passion was drawing anime, so of course I gotta incorporate it in the clothes!
It’s high end, and all handmade by my little hands. <3

I do have a unique point of view. It makes me proud and excited, because I see my clothes and I feel like it is so different than what is out there in fashion, but it is still able to speak to a lot of people who are looking for that.

How I got here today professionally… well i am just starting. I just graduated in 2021! But, creating my first collection has catapulted me into realizing I do have a place in the fashion world and I am good at what I do.
Before creating my collection, I didn’t know that I am a fashion designer. I’ve always seen myself as an illustrator. Sewing and pattern-making was very hard for me at first and it was discouraging. But, then Debut came along and i pulled out pieces I had no idea I was capable of! Now I feel like I can make anything. I feel like I have found a piece of myself.

Now I am jumping right in! I am just now stepping into the waters of selling my pieces. It’s nerve racking! But, I do want to share my vision and I do want to see people out in the world wearing my clothes.

What I’ve learned so far is: Shoot for the stars! Stay authentic and forever learning! An editing eye is important but trust the vision. You can do anything you put your mind to!!!!

I am Analeia Bella Madden! I am 25 and from Austin, Texas!

My mom was an angelic oil painter (R.I.P <3) and my dad is an electronica musician and violinist. They provided such a whimsical upbringing for me filled with painting, music, peacocks, love and play. That shaped the way I view beauty in the world and see the abundance of it.

I think everything goes back to the relationship my mom and I had with making art together. She had this glow about her and she made life beautiful. I want to continue creating the way we used to and make things from my heart.

Just out here making stuff that makes me happy and I hope it makes you happy too!!!!! <3

NEW COLLECTION OTW!! <3 It’s called Sherbert!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
LAAA BABY! I love LA.

Some of my favorite places to eat
Jones (Classy Ambiance)
Wurstküch
My mains are Loqui, Sonoratown, Homestate, Tenno Sushi

My brother just came to town from Texas. I took him to some of my favorite places! The first night, we took him to Wurstküche for german hot dogs and then walked over to Bar Eighty Two for pinball and drinks :). Of course, Shatto Lanes for bowling, drinks and games. Another night we went to Jazz night at the Sofitel Hotel. My other favorite places that we will go next time are Jones for ambiance and Italian food, and my love, Alamo Drafthouse movie theater (Thank you Alamo for moving to LA with me from our home, Austin Texas. I am forever grateful)
My boyfriend and I aren’t really in the kitchen so our main faves are Loqui, Sonoratown, and Tenno Sushi <3

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shouts out to my family!!!! I come from a family of dreamers. They are why I am who I am! Growing up in that whimsical, artistic space has a huge impact on me and my designs. They always encouraged me to be myself and that I can do anything I put my mind to.

Also, shouts out to FIDM LA!!!I They saw potential in me and gave me a full ride scholarship to make and show a collection for their iconic Debut program!! That changed my life. I had no idea I was a fashion designer before going through that. And the relationships I have built with some of my teachers are incredibly special. They have taught me so much.

Shouts out Youtube! it’s a wonderful invention for learning!!!!

And shouts out to the people i’ve met throughout my life who have had influence on me, and those who are in my life right now. Many humans in this world are very inspiring. And I have really supportive, awesome friends and family. Thank you <3
