Meet Andi Krush | Singer & Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andi Krush and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my first business by opening my new Restaurant, “Ristorante Tortellino,” at 7168 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. It’s an Italian restaurant specializing in fresh homemade pasta, but we also do soups and salads, and we have many vegetarian and vegan options. The Restaurant is small but cozy and very family-friendly.
My first thought was about my childhood back in Germany, where my parents, originally from a small town in the south, Sicily, immigrated. My father opened different Italian restaurants in Germany, and I grew up in the Restaurant; I remember playing in the Restaurant and seeing my father working. I also spent much time there playing with the employees. The Restaurant was called “Il Tartufo”.
Watching and growing up in an Italian restaurant gave me a passion and taste for authentic food; when I was older, I started helping my father out at the Restaurant, and I started working as a waiter and barkeeper.
That was my first work experience and all that prepared me step by step to become who I am today.
But the Restaurant isn’t the only thing in my life! I’m also a singer and songwriter. My artist name is Andi Krush, and I love that I can connect both things in my life! The Italian Restaurant and my music. So I’m working on both things. In the morning, I go to the recording studio in Burbank and work on new songs with my music producer, Chico Bennett, and in the afternoon, I go to the Restaurant and work till we close, which is every day.
I started doing music back in Germany after my first years of experience in the restaurant business.
I was on Facebook, and all of a sudden, I saw the music video from Post Malone – “Congratulations,” which woke up my creativity, which was in me that I received from my mother’s side. The whole family from my mother’s side are artists and musicians. Also, my brother is a singer, songwriter, and musician known as “Toto Blu.”
On my mother’s side, two of my uncles are musicians; one is a drummer, and the other is a guitarist.
And my other uncle is a designer-atelier. My brother and I have a lot from my mother’s and dad’s sides; it’s all a great mix!
My musical career started when I was 14 years old, and I had found a producer in Sinsheim, Germany, with the artist named Bonassis, whom I didn’t know was Tim Eiermann, the ex-guitarist of the band Liquido, who became famous with the song “Narcotic.”
The Restaurant was also a great accomplishment Because I have been looking for the right place to create this idea for a long time! And Melrose is the perfect place for my new venue! Melrose is full of art! And also, the culture changes every year.
Working in a restaurant is music for me because every dish has its flavor and energy; taking a bite of pasta bursts a symphony of Mediterranean flavor, and feeling those vibrations in your mouth makes you feel good and happy with every plate of pasta.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Nothing is easy! Everything comes with many challenges because it is part of life! Nobody said that it would be easy, but if it were easy, it wouldn’t make that much fun!
The love in me and my passion for music gives me the strength and motivation to get up in the morning and start working on my dream!
The things that set me apart from others in the music industry are my sound and my song genre. Pop-rock and some of the songs are 80s and 90s influenced. The sound and lyrics are unique, speaking about life and truth.
Like my ep “Shadows Run” or the upcoming project I am still working on with Chico Bennett.
I speak a lot about mental health, depression, anxiety, and self-doubts; I’m open to these things, which I think is an excellent thing to normalize, to open up and speak about mental health.
I like to use music to connect to people and speak about certain things. Music is powerful, and we can’t live without music.
Music is energy!
Today, I am in Los Angeles, also thanks to my father, who followed me in the music business, and by starting to work with Chico Bennett, I established myself in Los Angeles because it is a multi-cultural city and gives space for all artists to emerge.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend came over, I would take him first to the Chinese theater, then to the Walk of Fame, then to the Hollywood Wax Museum, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, a nice walk to the Hollywood sign, and then to the observatory. I would go for a walk with him to the nature of Malibu and also show him Route 66. For lunch, I would take him to Pinks Hot Dog, and for the evening, I would take him to Whiskey a Go Go and maybe even The Roxy Theatre
The new restaurant I just opened is a “must go” on the list, too! We’re gonna eat some fresh homemade Italian pasta.
I would show him so many wonders that Los Angeles has to offer! I would also take him to Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive and tour the beautiful houses in Beverly Hills.
And lastly, I would show him the place where I make music! The recording studio in Burbank, I would definitely show him this place, too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give my parents much recognition because I am grateful for how they raised me, believe in me, and still support me in my life choices today.
I’m also very thankful to my brother Salvatore Galiano, who is known as “Toto Blu,” because he made me have my first musical experience.
I have read much about the universe and life from the books “The Power of Now” and “A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose” by Eckhart Tolle. This awakening and beautiful experience gives you much strength in your daily life and goals.
I’m also very grateful to my producer in Germany, Tim Eiermann, who taught me so much about music.
A shoutout also to my voice teacher back in Germany, who taught me so much about how to use my voice
A big thank you to my producer, Chico Bennett, who believes in me!
Thanks to my family, everyone is a fantastic artist!
And this one goes to my fans and people around me who support me from the beginning! They give me so much love and encouragement, and that is incredible!
It also deserves the life of music because it is spectacular magic, a vibration that makes you feel good.
