We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Kealii and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andre, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business was to use my talents as a creative to help black business owners promote their products and services using video strategies. I noticed a discrepancy in quality video marketing resources available within our community and decided to do something about it using my own resources. Since going full time in the biz in 2020, we’ve been fortunate to services over 30+ businesses and online brands.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets us apart from others is the customer experience and quality of work provided. We are very hands on with each client and really take time to understand their goals and vision for each project. Ultimately helping them achieve their individual goals and bring their vision to reality!
I’m also very excited about the launch of our new e-book! Although I can’t say too much about it, I will say that it will be extremely valuable for online brands and entrepreneurs in need of help branding themselves using social media! Our official launch date is April 30th and it will be purchasable through our website kealiicreations.productions.
We got were we are today business-wise by learning daily, taking risks and continuously seeking joy in what we do. It hasn’t been an easy process at all but embracing the process as a whole has made the journey much more fulfilling. I’ve overcome challenges by consistently showing up and putting in the work and having full faith in God that he will do the rest, and sure enough He hasn’t failed us.
The main lesson I learned along the way is patience and putting things in perspective. I have extremely ambitions goals for our biz that I know we’ll achieve, however sometimes we fall short of the goals for reasons outside of our control and that’s okay. This has taught me to be patient with the process and put things in perspective by celebrating the milestones and assessing how we can be better and more prepared to hit our goals moving forward.
What I want share with the world to know is that if you have dreams to do something else in life do it! The moment you pursue it is the moment you’ll start living and loving life again. Don’t worry about what others including family and peers will think of you; don’t let the self doubt or outside noise interfere with your ambitions! Be focused, stay the course and enjoy the ride.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly, I’d have them come to the crib. My girl is an event planner so we enjoy hosting friends and providing them with a unique/fun experience. In other words, she does her event planning thing with the decor and I do my thing by cooking up a good meal in the kitchen. We’ll play games, watch movies, chat and overall just kick it.The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My support group deserves the most recognition! My ohana has been very encouraging; they’ve also been very understanding as I’ve made a lot of sacrifice building the biz. So ohana thank you for always understanding and encouraging me to keep going!
