Meet Andre Roper | Clothing brand innovator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andre Roper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andre, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Knowing that I was a capable of being anything, I chose to be a leader amongst the doubt and prevail past the opinions of others. I reached a pinnacle in my thought process to listen to me and not the put world. My brand is me, I am my brand. Hopefully my truth births a new generation of believers.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Man, it’s been one long ride of trials and tribulations! I had a rough past, lost myself along the way due to depression, stress, self doubt, it was dance that kept me above surface, my will that acted as my lifeline to survive life. Let’s be honest, it isn’t easy just being you at times! We are often monitored by society, so we listen to the voices of perfection which isn’t conducive for the soul. I am not perfect! I would ever want to be precise in any way. It’s not easy to become great yet, I had to know or believe I was great. Let’s face it chance isn’t a coincidence, I am here from a great deal of hard work, determination, and grit, I am a product of true salvation so my past put me in this exact position, I believe I am where I need to be. I accept what the universe wants me to do, so I choose freedom rather than overthinking. This is my legacy and that alone will tell a story organically for the world to see. I’m a winner in my eyes, now it’s time for me to trust in self to let that light be shown.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This question is right up my alley! I’ll start this off with Food and end it with food. Bills cafe has some great service. I started off with service because I feel it’s important to me. If you are in my world, you will know by fault I love to love and when I see smiles from ear to ear I feed off of that, and this place will have anyone sinking in their seat from flavor, conversation, fun, laughter etc. Afterwards we could go to SP2 lounge where the music is live, fulfilling, worthy of the time to listen to creatives work their magic. I truly would end it off with a BBQ at my pad with music, friends having cyphers in the backyard as we all just let go. I love simplicity, it’s what we all need. Any friend that visits my home feels at peace, that’s true vacation in my eyes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom has always been my support! If it wasn’t for this woman I wouldn’t be where I am at today. She molded a crown upon me that I will never let anyone take away! Having the emotional standpoint of belief in self is engrained in my DNA, I cannot let up my family is my vision, my source to keep going. At the end of the day I do this for them they are my blood lime to keep going.
