Meet Andrea Huang | Founder & Creative Director of Andre Jewelry

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Huang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, what do you attribute your success to?
Financial planning. For designers, it sounds cheesy to talk about money, but it’s really important for a newborn brand.
I wouldn’t say my brand has already succeeded because it’s still in an early stage, but I have been aware of the importance of managing costs and cash flow. Having a solid, realistic financial plan can provide crucial support when facing risks and enable you to persevere until you achieve success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Q: What sets you apart from others?
A: The essence of Andre Jewelry is encapsulated in the phrase “Timeless Adornments of Humanity.”
Humanity encompasses emotion, experience, and imperfection. Our mission is to capture and immortalize these elements in the form of jewelry. Each piece we create is not merely a decoration, but rather a reflection of the wearer’s emotional resonance.
Q: What you are most proud of or excited about?
A: In the process of creation, nothing brings greater joy than the sudden arrival of inspiration, which I refer to as ‘divine guidance.’ For example, the inspiration for my latest collection, ‘Starry Night,’ came from a surreal dream where various planets floated across the night sky filled with towering buildings in a comic book style. Upon waking, I was deeply moved by the imagery from the dream.
Before having this dream, I had already begun work on the new season’s designs but was consistently dissatisfied. This dream provided me with a direction and brought forth new inspiration.
Q: How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
A: It’s never easy. The key is to continue practicing and pushing yourself to be a little bit better than last time. When faced with challenges, it’s important to identify the reasons behind them and approach them with both a positive mindset and patience.
Q:What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way.
A: I have learned that time is the best friend and teacher. Just do your best, and leave the rest to time.
Q:What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
A: I hope people can find emotional solace in Andre Jewelry; it’s wearable art, warm, romantic and deeply touching.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in New York City. When friends come to visit, no matter what type of friends they are, I absolutely take them to Central Park first. Central Park is the most charming place in New York in my eyes. Whenever I ask my friends afterwards about their favorite place in New York, over half of them tell me it’s Central Park. We would buy salads, pizza, sit on Sheep Meadow, and gaze at the iconic buildings of New York under the blue sky and white clouds. There seems to be magic there that can make people relax or have heart-to-heart conversations.
Next, I would take them to explore the Chelsea Area, including The High Line, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Hudson River waterfront. On the High Line, you can wander among the new and old buildings of New York and feel the charm of the city. I have very fond memories of Pastis restaurant, a fusion of French and American cuisine, with a relaxed, classic, and vibrant atmosphere. Additionally, I highly recommend Sleep No More, an interactive film-noir Macbeth experience. I still remember the scenes of chasing different characters back then.
Brooklyn is another must-visit place, especially if you’re a fashion and art enthusiast. If Manhattan is the initial impression of New York, then Brooklyn is the art of life. Williamsburg and Green Point have my favorite vintage clothing and furniture stores, such as Malin Landaeus Vintage and Dobbin Street Vintage Co-op, unique and perfect for treasure hunting. If you get tired of walking, you can grab a cup of coffee at Devoción. For food, I would recommend House Brooklyn, run by Chef Yuji Tani, with its Japanese and French fusion style, simple, exquisite, and with endless aftertaste.
There are still too many charming places to list, such as Broadway shows, MOMA, Soho, Noho, China Town, Brooklyn Bridge Park and many more. You can experience completely different cultures in each neighborhood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout out to everyone who has worked with me in every stage of my life. There are too many to be mentioned one by one here, but all of them have shaped who I am, especially my ex-boss, Perry Li from Stella Luna. Thank you for opening the world of fashion to me and giving a chance to an immature 23-year-old kid to try as much as she can.
I would also love to shout out to my parents for believing in me and supporting me to do whatever I want. They are one of the motivations for me to keep creating and achieve my dream.
