Meet ANDREA MUNOZ | Actress

We had the good fortune of connecting with ANDREA MUNOZ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ANDREA, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
There are so many things, to start the amount of rejection you face daily, for every job you book, you don’t hear back from another 50 auditions you submitted. It makes you a better person and humbles you. Also, we don’t get paid as well as people would think we do and with the strike, I think people out there are finally realizing that. Is an important moment in the industry, I feel like we have been pretending for too long that things are cool, because of the attention you get in media or social media, but that doesn’t pay for a decent life, especially in a city like LA that is incredibly expensive. Not quitting an acting career requires from us a huge love for the art, that is what keeps us going, the idea of doing what you love.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an actress, and I am proud of how much I have ground as an artist, and how much I have learned and integrated into myself, that makes me feel very confident, and also it makes me feel free. whenever I’m acting I don’t feel insecure or self-conscious anymore. I feel happy and fun, and if I don’t like something I did, I don’t beat myself down anymore, because now I understand it happens to everyone, one bad take doesn’t define you as an artist. I got where I am today with a lot of discipline, I am hundred percent committed, especially with myself, I don’t wanna betray myself or not be loyal to where my heart wants me to be, and that is a difficult task, so NO it has not been easy, and I truly believe, that you overcome this challenges with a good support system, I would never say that, I have accomplished anything by myself, there was always someone there making me feel supported and that created in me a feeling of holding my self accountable for my own dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Silver Lake, that’s my favorite area. I would take them to Sqirl for breakfast and coffee, then I would take them for a walk in the neighborhood, Maybe to Los Feliz flee Market, then e could grab some lunch at Jitlada, the best Thai food in town, located in Hollywood. then we can go to my fav bar in echo park, call Bar Flores, and have so nice mezcal margarita or a michelada, they have the best micheladas. catching the sunset at that bar is great, their patio is a vibe, and we could end again in silver lake at a burger place called the win-dow and eat ice cream next door. As you can see I’m a foody hahaha if is good food, affordable, and pretty I’m in.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Family and close friends, I have had the privilege to count on a support system that has supported my choice to become an actor and artist. they have never discouraged me, on the contrary, they dare to dream big with me, and whenever I’m feeling low, they cheer me up with love and words that bring back my confidence.
