Meet Andrea Romero | Founder of Citrine Interiors & Principal Designer.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Romero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, what makes you happy? Why?
Andrea Romero has always believed that great design should feel lived-in, layered, and deeply personal. What brings her the most joy is transforming spaces into homes that reflect the people who live in them, balancing form and function with thoughtful details that feel both elevated and timeless. For Andrea, the magic is in the process: mixing materials, refining proportions, and creating interiors that feel intentional.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Andrea apart is her ability to merge West Coast influence with the realities of Texas living. Growing up in Calabasas and later studying at Pepperdine University in Malibu, she was surrounded by thoughtful architecture, natural light, and a relaxed yet refined lifestyle that continues to shape her design perspective. Her work favors quality materials, collected pieces, and intentional layering over fleeting trends, creating homes that feel both elevated and effortless.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles remains a constant source of inspiration. From morning matcha at Calabasas Coffee House or Community Goods, to design stops like FORM (LA), the Pacific Design Center, and Melrose’s design stores, the city continues to inform her creative process. Afternoons are typically spent in Beverly Hills shopping on Rodeo Drive, grabbing a smoothie at Erewhon or heading downtown to Olive Ateliers. Evenings are best spent at favorites like Cipriani, Elephanté, or Nobu Malibu, ideally timed with a sunset over the Pacific. Whether hiking Runyon Canyon, hanging out at the Malibu Country Mart or relaxing at Paradise Cove, LA’s blend of lifestyle and design is something Andrea continually brings back with her, integrated thoughtfully into the homes she creates in Texas and beyond

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When asked about influences, Andrea credits designers like Joanna Gaines, Amber Lewis, and Kelly Wearstler, along with publications such as Architectural Digest, for shaping her early appreciation for design. Above all, she points to her mother as her greatest source of support. Her constant encouragement laid the foundation for everything Citrine Interiors has become.
