We had the good fortune of connecting with andrea rueda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi andrea, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I love this question!!! Risk is EVERYTHING, I remember I read somewhere or someone told me “The universe loves risk” and I live by it. Of course, I’m not gonna pretend that I don’t sh** my pants sometimes at the thought of speaking in front of hundreds of people, but people think that risk involves people who are not scared, but ‘au contraire,’ people who take risks are usually very scared, but they do it anyway, and learn to navigate thru those emotions.

The role of risk taking in my career led me to one of my favorite jobs as a bilingual TV host, and that was live broadcast for boxing. It was LIVE TV!, and I knew NOTHING about boxing, but I went for it and learned, and had constant anxiety, but the rewards were awesome. You just gotta put yourself in those uncomfortable situations and that means you are doing it RIGHT and growing most importantly.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
To be SO honest, how can you do ONE thing in 2021! My art, my career comes in so many ways! I love connecting with people when I’m interviewing them, I like to be me and make others feel so them as well, and together create awesome videos so that the audience can laugh, cry, smile and just have a good time!

I think what sets me apart is maybe the fact that I really don’t care if something is gonna bomb or not, I just do it, whether I’m creating some hair video for my audience, or asking a dumb question, I feel that if you do something with your heart, and as long as it felt right at that moment, its all it matters.

Well, I got to where I am today (and still not where I want to be) by just going and going and going and going, ya know what I mean, just be a lil obsessed about the subject, talk to people, make the right connections, emails and emails of pitching ideas, auditioning a LOT, LIKE A LOT, and learning from everything you’ve ever done and try too make it better. NO, its not easy, but its very rewarding.

Lessons? every day, every second. I’ve learned that it will take you way longer than you think, if you want to make it RIGHT. That email, editing that video, that makeup, the hair, and you think you can just wing-it, NO, you will learn that winging it just puts you in that pile, and you want to stand out. So its gonna take more time. ūüėČ

I want the world to know, that I’m almost an open book, I want young girls to look up to me, to see me as their older sister, teach them how to be more confident, in this disgusting world of bad images out there ruining girls self-esteem, I want to encourage them to be so them, there’s not a cell of doubt. I want people to watch my videos and just have a good time, enjoy and not take life so serious!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
haha who’s writing these questions, you are good!

Ok …

Day 1 — chill unpack, go walk around the neighborhood at night grab a frozen yogurt, juice, some cute local cafe to unwind from your trip

Day 2 —- let’s say the weather is perfect, beach perfect, well I’ll take you to my favorite beach (shhhh its private, dm me for the name haha) there’s usually no one there and the view is amazing, then go eat sushi!!! ( I love yuzu sushi in Toluca Lake, Yamashiro in Hollywood or Iroha in Sherman Oaks)

Day 3 — Do the touristy things? Hollywood blvd, rodeo drive, hollywood sing, ya know if they want to take all the insta-pics and stories… maybe finish the day watching the sunset in a rooftop in Venice beach?

Day 4 — Get some exercise, go on a nice hike and then a nice restaurant at night. I’m obsessed with Mediteranean: Miz lala (THE BEST), italian: Osteria Mozza, Vibe: Wally’s Beverly Hills, Bakery/cuban: Portos, Glendale.

Day 5 —- Call my girlfriends and crash one of their building’s rooftop pools in DTLA.

Day 6 —- Go to Palm Springs!! for a couple of days!
