We had the good fortune of connecting with Andres Rojo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andres, do you have a budget?
yes definitly i have a budget. You need separete your personal finances to your business finances, because yor business alway want more and more investment; that never stop. Besides you alway want to see your business growing and innovating. So, your personal account saves, your personal debts, all in separate budgets from your business accounts. Then you must decide what kind of lifestyle do you expect and go for it!! but be careful because when you want a lifestyle with high standars, You must also have order, innovation, originality, excellent service, whatever your business is about, it must have high standards as well. Keep in mind that many successful businesses don’t survive because their founders simply made their lifestyle a path to financial failure. So for me is very important what kind of personal decisions you make to keep growing your business and of course your live.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
im in the beauty industry. Color, make up, hair cut styles, styling, thats my art. But besides i love business and teaching. i think there is a old fashion stereotype when someone like arts but people around think you can’t make money with art. of course you can do your art and make money and do your business!. Why not? if you do your things seriously, organized and with respect about your knowledge, you can keep a good business and good life. My 25 years experience in beauty industry, and 15 years in business give me a good vision about my business and what I want to continue achieving. I feel like a profesional, but always thinking about how can we do better things for my business, my art, my family, and why not, for the world. its not easy way, its a lot of good and not good experiencie, but alway learning about the good, the bad and the ugly too. but i know something: when you enjoy something is more easy to do it. I believed that every day is a new challenge and that should be fun. if not, you are doing somnething wrong.
Some important lessons for me along the way son: patience, perseverance, resilience, learning to demand and share.
i would like to show the world simply enjoy your job or your business or wherever you do and mostly enjoy that little details day by day. Conect with people and nature around. Me and my brand Cosmetikarojo are the result about things can be differents because you have a choise. Is not the world and the stereotypes who decide. Thats you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
i would like to show him places where he can feell the freedom like mountains, and forrests. Having a view from above is wonderful and liberating.
Besides downtown strees can give us a great perspective of the difference between people, races, education, styles, what is important and what is not. individualism so important but so attacked by social networks today.
So maybe a itinerary could be:
Hikking definitly. It doesn matter where, we can choose the mountain and go!
Dinner in a restaurant located on the terrace of a building in Downtown.
Obvioulsy, tour around Beverly Hills.
My best friend and me grew together wathing movies, so we must go for a movies tour in a some studio.
There is a lot of beaches in South California, so we are gonna go some beches for sure. My recomendation: Malibu, Santa Monica, Seal Beach.
A trip boat in Newport Beach and freedom continue.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First of all, my family has always believed in me and made me feel safe with my decisions, so thank you very much for that.

Well the EAFIT University in Medellin, which was the academy where I trained in administration and showed me important paths to know what I wanted and what I did not want to do in the business world. Has Belleza Academy who showed me the side of art that i did not know.

And Michael Vincent Academy in Los Angeles, who reminded me that limits don’t exist, only in your mind.
