We had the good fortune of connecting with Andy Zaldivar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always had a fascination with the arts. Since I was a young kid, I loved music, movies, television shows, live plays, poetry, paintings, etc…With that being said, I naturally gravitated towards acting. My curiosity grew and grew, so in college I decided to take an acting course and it was everything I expected it to be. It only heightened my love for it. There’s just nothing like performing in front of an audience and taking that audience on a journey of emotion and sparking their imagination.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have hosted my own podcast for five years now; it’s called “The Profile Pod.” I bring on individuals doing extraordinary things in life to inspire the human spirit. My main focus is to highlight my guests so that they can get lots of exposure, as well telling their story and truly seeing that person in a different light. This is the most important aspect for me as a host/professional. I want my guest to know it’s all about him/her. That person will get promoted to the utmost on my social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. To me, it’s all about serving others. It’s really that simple. I aim to provide a service and help others achieve their goals when I interview them. Additionally, I hope my interviews will inspire the audience to go and pursue their own goals and dreams. This is what truly sets me apart from others. This is what really makes me the happiest about my platform. It’s just all about selflessness. I feel that my journey is just getting started. Thus far, I’ve learned so much about the business, myself, and the technical aspects of hosting and interviewing. In 2024, I’ve decided to slightly pivot and focus just as much time and effort into the acting piece, so I’m really excited about the opportunities that will be coming my way!
I’ve definitely learned that this business is not easy, but it’s not impossible. I’ve realized that so many artists that have achieved success did so through perseverance, grit and simply never giving up on their goals. This is what truly inspires me to keep on keeping on. As long as I’m working hard, honing my craft and networking, I will get to where I want to be.

In the Fall of 2023, I also got the opportunity to work as an Ambassador for the Los Angeles Rams. This was truly a great experience for me. I got to see an NFL game through a completely different lens. The behind the scenes of stadium operations was so enlightening for me, I was completely impressed by it all. I am grateful for this opportunity because I got to meet and work with some very talented individuals within the Rams organization. This may be the beginning of something great, so time will tell!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, what a fun question to answer here! Well, let’s assume this is around summer time. There’s nowhere better than Southern California/Los Angeles in the summer. First, we have to hit the beaches. Starting in Malibu, coming down from the north, we’d have to make a stop at Neptune’s Net for some seafood, then head south to Leo Carrillo State Beach and El Matador State Beach, and take in the scenery at these respective beaches. Of course, Zuma Beach would be our last stop in Malibu before heading down to the Santa Monica Pier, as well as the 3rd Street Promenade. From here we’d head just south to world renowned Venice Beach. Here, we’d head to Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles for some food and then check out Muscle Beach on the boardwalk. The next day we’d head to Downtown Los Angeles and catch a Dodger game. Our next destination would take us to Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. to take in the Sunset Strip, the Walk of Fame and the world famous Hollywood Sign. Dinner would be served at 25 Degrees in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where they have biggest, juiciest hamburgers! Then we’d head back to Downtown and visit the rooftop bar, Perch LA. The next day we would have go eat Mexican food at Carnitas El Artista in Inglewood, then catch a movie at Cineopolis right down the street, also in Inglewood. My guest would definitely have to check out Big Bear Lake for hiking and taking in nature away from the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s so many people that have supported and inspired me through my journey, but I definitely have to give a huge shoutout to my wife, Samantha. She’s been super-instrumental with enabling me to pursue my artistic goals during these past five years. Especially early on, she became flexible and realized that I was definitely in it to win it. For that, I am eternally grateful. Also, my good friends Alexander Orozco aka “The Hood Foodie” for just being that confidant and friend whom I could always call upon to motivate me and provide me with insight and advice about the business. And of course, my singer/songwriter friend, Dylan Garcia for being an inspirational figure for myself and others to follow. I have nothing but love and respect for these gentlemen.
