We had the good fortune of connecting with Angad Singh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angad, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I struggled to maintain a good balance when I started working after graduating in 2020. It didn’t help that Covid kept everyone away from each other and I found that work time blended seamlessly into life time. But slowly over the last couple of years or so, I’ve struck a good balance between getting things done at work and taking time for myself. I feel like I’ve found a good routine now that makes me feel like I’m being productive but not over-exerting myself if it isn’t required. I also think time management is key and it’s a skill I’ve picked up in the last three years or so.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I currently work as a freelancer with various clients that I pick up along the way. In the last 18 months or so, I’ve found that I thrive in variety so I’ve slowly shifted my efforts towards finding new work all the time. The path so far has been moderately easy with some bumps along the way. I’ve found that what has helped me in these last few years is my relationships with people I’ve worked with before. Nearly all the clients I’ve found so far have been through referrals or word of mouth which I am eternally grateful for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This city has so much to offer and I still feel like I’ve only been scratching at the surface. I guess I would take them to some restaurants around Pasadena that I love; Mi Piace, Sushi Roku, and Granville. I would also take them to the Rose Bowl for a walk around the area. Outside of Pasadena, I’d love to show them the Highland Park Bowl and some of the restaurants in York. There is also the beach in Malibu that I would put on this list. I also love Disneyland so I use any excuse I can get to visit and spend a day there.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This one is tough because there are so many people in my life who have helped me along the way and I don’t want to miss anyone.
