We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Anthony Marrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Prayer, Passion, Persistence.

I call it the Three P. You need God to have your back in this world especially when striving to go against things bigger than you. In my case it’s going against the grain. You need passion, if you’re not passionate about what you are trying to achieve, then you won’t put in all the work and remain persistent. If you don’t have persistence, you won’t make it far.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m an actor that works in film and tv. I’m also a producer that makes film and works behind the scenes. But I’m really just a big kid at heart. Since I was a kid I would role play with my sisters and friends in games of imaginary fantasy or sci-fi stories. I had the wooden sword or the nerf gun leading the charge on some would be monster. Growing up, I’ve been able to translate that kid side into a profession and career. I love to tell stories and be a part of them. And what’s better than getting paid to do what you love?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d definitely eat in North Hollywood at the puerto rican restaurant “Mofongos” on Lankershim Blvd.
Then we’d probably hit some thrift stores in Beverly Hills for some cheap yet lavish looking shopping. For sure we’d have to hike somewhere. Eh any hike spot will do. Runyon is popular, right? Eat at Paradise Cove in Malibu. That spot has great sea food deals. Then if they want to go grab some drinks or party, I’d have to get my boy Joe Raffa, call Franky, and hit up Mike so we can all go down to Hollywood’s “Good Times at Davy Waynes”.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to Jesus Christ. Couldn’t do this without him. My main inspiration is my mother Arelis Marrero who has been an entrepreneur and business woman for over thirty years. She pushes me to be better. My Father, Angel, inspires me to stay on top of my morals and relationship with God. I have my circle of best friends that have inspired me throughout the years as well. Such as Joe Raffa, Michael Okafor, Jesse Guerrero, Shahar Williams and John Rheaume. I also have been inspired by a few other talented people I know and respect like fellow actor Gabriel Sosa. Seeing him on a marvel tv show made me work harder to get on a tv show myself. Cory Pyke is a good friend and brother in Christ who just produced a film directed by Ethan Hawke. Tetsuo The Zombie is an upcoming twitch streamer that really puts time and work into his brand that is growing fast. Graphic Gorilla is probably the best graphic designer I know while being a full time dad of the year. Nonie Shiverick is a talented writer and producer that never gives up and finds a way to get it done. Eugeniia Gul is a real go getter in every sense of the word and her husband Dan the man, is one of the most down to earth and innovative businessmen I’ve been blessed to meet. All these people have left an impact in my life that’s keeps me optimistic and moving forward and I’m truly thankful for them.
