We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe taking risks is so important to achieve goals. If you never go for it or try something you will never know the outcome. I knew moving to Los Angeles would have challenges. Even if I failed at least I can look back and say I tried it out and made lasting memories in the process. I’ve even booked some jobs that were not my description but I went for it anyway the outcome turned out great.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Ever since I was five, I knew that I wanted to move to LA and work in the entertainment biz. Watching musical artists on tv and award shows made me want to be a part of that glamorous life. At that young age, my parents put me in dance classes where I learned tap, jazz and ballet. I loved it and I competed all throughout my school years. At age ten, I began participating in local fashion shows and dance events. When I turned 18, I landing a spot on the NFL Oakland Raiders cheerleading squad. After that, I cheered for the NBA with the Golden State Warriors. Having that experience gave me the confidence to further my career and move to Hollywood to dance and model. It was a little harder to land jobs than I expected. I thought once you get signed with a agent you work all the time. The biggest challenge to me is having to juggle your schedule around to make audition times. I have always knew the way to set yourself a part is by being professional and humble. Everyone wants to work with people they can rely on and who bring their A game on set. I’ve gotten many wonderful opportunities by being true to myself and kind. What keeps me motivated is making my family proud. My parents are my biggest supporters.

I would love for anyone who is doubting their talents to go for it. Believe in yourself and stick to goals big and small and you will achieve them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I have friends come to town especially if they’ve never been to Los Angeles before, I love driving them to the beaches. One of my favorite spots is Nobu in Malibu. The restaurant has such a beautiful view of the ocean. I also enjoy driving to all the tourist spots in Hollywood. I’m the best tour guide haha. Another fun spot (because I love rooftop views) is the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Beverly Hills and the tallest restaurant in downtown LA Spire 73. I love LA it’s so much to see and do I really enjoy showing off my city. clearly looking at my top picks I love to eat as well lol.
