We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Yanez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Success is all about consistency. As long as you continue to do what works for you the success will follow. People will start to follow you on your journey and the positive feedback becomes the drive behind motivation. Yes there might be bumps in the road, but those bumps will only help you in the end.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Content creation has been a very large part of my life the past two years. It may have started as a hobby, but it has become so much more. As much as I love it I do have a day job. For over fifteen years I have worked in special education. I work for one of our local high schools as a paraeducator for severely handicapped students. It is a challenging yet rewarding position. Working with students has always been my passion. I enjoy the time spent with them and I firmly believe children are the future. My career in education has not always been easy, but I think it is why I love it so much. The challenges have kept me wanting more. They have pushed me to my limits. They have pushed me to further myself in education as well. While working a full time job I went back to college and got my B.A. in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing. Hard work pays off. As long as you are willing to work and put in the effort, success will follow.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Palm Springs has so many fun things to see. We would definitely start in Downtown Palm Springs. The strip has food, coffee spots and shopping. We would hit Moorten’s Botanical Garden where every corner is a photo opportunity. Hiking at the Indian Canyons is always a good idea. We can cool off with some delicious ice cream from Kreem. After a fun filled day we can stay at the JW Mariott and enjoy their fine dining and boat rides. Throughout the week we can visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, take desert photos at the windmills and hope to win big at the Agua Caliente Resort & Casino. A visit to The Living Desert, catching the Cabazon Dinosaurs and shopping the Gardens on El Paseo would finish our week in the beautiful Coachella Valley.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I started my journey as a content creator two years ago. I had several friends who recommended the idea which intrigued me. It was a new experience and I was not always sure I knew what I was doing. One person who I can always turn to for questions is a fellow blogger and friend, Alison Barker. Alison is a very successful blogger in Orange County. She is always available to answer questions regarding social media. I have been very fortunate to know her and pick her brain whenever I need it.
