We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Stocker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I didn’t really have any other choice. I’ve tried plenty of other occupations, but I always come back to performing and creating.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always loved crafting and stand up comedy, so I wanted to merge the two. I started Highly Crafty as a YouTube channel with two purposes (1) meet more comedians (2) thin out my craft collection. Since then, it’s become an Etsy shop and continued to grow its reach. My comedy is unique because my life, and outlook on it, is unique! I also want to help end the “lazy stoner” stigma. I’m excited that cannabis is starting to go mainstream…mostly because it’s ALWAYS been mainstream in my life. I just love finding ways to add a little canna-flair to my crafts and comedy!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There’s still so much that I need to explore! I would probably do a few things downtown. Like brunch at the Nickel Diner and then check out the Angels Flight. At night we could hit up one of the free concerts in Grant(Grand?) park and then maybe party like twenty somethings at The Standard rooftop bar. I’ve never been to Catalina, so we would definitely have a day trip there. And maybe some whale watching would be fun down in Long Beach. We would also do a hang at the Getty Villa and a sunset dinner in Malibu. There would also be lots of live comedy at dive bars and plenty of trips to the dispensaries. I would also throw in a train ride to the Santa Monica pier and strolling around the promenade. Ohhhh, and a waterfall hike at Eaton canyon!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Live performers definitely deserve a shoutout. Whether it’s comedy, music, acting, burlesque, live performers for really adapted and tried to keep their craft thriving and it’s been really inspiring to see.
