We had the good fortune of connecting with Anisha Khanna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anisha, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Don’t fear Adversity – the flip side of adversity is opportunity. Adversity teaches you to persevere and be flexible and adaptable, and you need these skills if you are going to succeed as an entrepreneur.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My natural beauty brand Sonage Skincare is in the wellness business.
– Sonage is a Spa grade brand known for its minimalistic, accessible skincare routines that recreate the spa experience at home.
– Our award-winning, high-quality innovative ingredients and performance-based formulations are manufactured in Los Angeles with the added benefit of aromatherapy.
– We are Women-owned (WEBNC certified) Minority-owned (NMSDC certified).
– Sonage is used in spa treatment rooms by over 700 licensed professionals in North America.
– I am most proud of our strong emotional bond with our consumers which results in significant product replenishment (~70%) and digital engagement.
Looking back – it is actually the CONSTRAINTS that have taught me PERSEVERANCE and have given me the mindset to succeed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live and work in Santa Monica, so most of my life happens on the west side.
We would start our day at Sweat Yoga or Beach Cycling, grab a bite at Sage Bistro, hike Runyon Canyon or Escondido Falls, and finally catch the beautiful winter LA sunset at Griffith Observatory or The Getty.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to Lavinia Errico, the founder of Equinox (fitness clubs) and my first boss.
The early days at Equinox was an amazing entrepreneurial setup, it was such a great training ground – always a balance of creativeness and profitability.
Lavinia changed the course of my life personally and professionally.
So thank you, Lavinia!
My advice – Find yourself a great mentor.
