We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann Mosely and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ann, what do you attribute your success to?
What I attribute my success to is having Integrity, it being of quality service vs quantity. I being a professional, have great customer service at all times. Even with the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur, clients can definitely try your patience when it comes to the service that I offer.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, I am a licensed esthetician, celebrity makeup artist, and educator with over 20 years of experience. I currently specialize in brow transformations, which are semi-permanent ombre microblading eyebrows. My goal is to take your brows from ordinary to extraordinary, and in this service, it can last up to 2 years. Eyebrows are considered semi-permanent because brows will start to fade eventually. I also have a Brow Academy that teaches students how to perform tattooed brows. I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve created with other beauty professionals in the beauty industry, including mentoring. I love to mentor women and men in the beauty industry helping and guiding them to achieve their goals. I believe in “each one, teach one, each one, grab one”, which is what sets me apart from others. I am well-rounded with knowledge. Not too many can say that they grew up in the salon from the age of 5 and has the knowledge of running and managing a salon before the age of 18. Knowledge of front office and back of the office, being a receptionist, selling products, cleaning, and learning the ins and outs of my mother’s Beauty Expo, “Spectrum International Expo” (SIBE) over 15 years established. This experience has allowed me to work with hair manufacturers and the public on that a different level. I’ve definitely had many hats throughout my career. My entrepreneurship journey has been challenging but I had this burning passion for the beauty industry and making a difference in people’s lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a social Butterfly and a foodie, so being outdoors is always fun. Definitely have to take them to the “Serving Spoon” for breakfast. Dinner at “The District” by GS with great music and Paul Martins which is also another great dinner restaurant. I’m a football fan as well so “The Melody Bar” is a great place to catch a game with a DJ as well as the “Wood Urban Kitchen”. If you enjoy cigars like I do because women love a good stick, “LA Lounge” or “Bo’s Cigar” is also a great chill atmosphere. Must save a night or two for live music and Happy hour at “Tantulums” in Long Beach or “Spaghettini”.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Oh my, when they say it takes a village that’s what I have. My beautiful and talented two mothers Doris and Gerri groomed me into the woman I am today. My dad John Mosley who is a photographer, and my creative cousin Patsy Ann the Bling Queen, have all attributed to my success. They all are the main people I sit to talk to and bounce off business ideas with. My baby brother, who is an amazing barber, John Mosley, and one of my best friends Crystal Haynes Hair Stylist and Patent Inventor. My other Bestfriend Milele Reynolds sends me beautiful text messages saying “you got this” or “I’m so proud of you” when I have a huge project or just know that I am overwhelmed. I cannot forget my older Brother Rahn Harris, I go to him for almost everything he’s like my advisor. I can go on with more names, I am truly Thankful and Blessed.
