We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Brandt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After working in the beauty industry for years and not feeling fulfilled, I knew it was time for a change. As much as I love making people feel beautiful, being committed to 40 hour work weeks with a couple of weeks off a year to travel wasn’t going to cut it for me long term. I’m nomadic at heart and knew I needed to find something that I could do from anywhere. I knew I was good with social media and customer service and I knew I liked to help people. Then I came across the term “Virtual Assistant”. I could help young entrepreneurs scale their business by managing their social media accounts, and let them focus on their craft while I helped them with behind-the-scenes tasks. The best part of it all, I could do it from my laptop in Mexico if I wanted. If I decide to move states, I’m not risking losing my entire clientele. I finally could set my own working hours and wages. I’m still in the early stages of my business, but I know this was made for me. It feels really good to help people, while still having the freedom to cultivate the life I want to live.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I think what sets me apart from other Virtual Assistants and Social Media Managers is the overall vibe of working with me. I like to keep it casual and down to earth, while still delivering exceptional work. I want my clients to think of me as an extension of their business, and as a friend. I will always be there to help my clients strategize, give advice, or be their cheerleaders.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would eat at Public Us for coffee +breakfast EVERY DAY! Their Avocado toast is to die for. North Italia, Grape Street Winebar (great happy hour), Esthers, or Honey Salt for lunches and dinners.
I love going downtown, spending a day at Circa’s pool, walking around the Arts District and Fremont. Of course, we have to get spontaneous flash tattoos at a local tattoo shop. I love taking people out to Red Rock Cayon and driving the loop at sunset, or on a daytime hike if weather permits.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My good friend Morgan Dazey introduced me to the Virtual Assistant/ SMM world. I couldn’t have done it without her encouragement and inspiration through the starting stages of my business.
