We had the good fortune of connecting with Anne Delorier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anne, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always been into fashion. As a kid playing dress up, studying fashion in college, working in the Fashion Industry post-college… 13 years ago, I took a break from working to raise my kids… Recently, I started feeling the need to get back in! I thought the subscription box model was a perfect way to start because I set up ELEVEN11 to be a quarterly (or seasonal) fashion accessories box so I could have cycles or “bursts” of work…. making the transition to work/ family life a little more gradual. I also felt like the masses didn’t necessarily NEED new accessories every month and I didn’t want to overwhelm their accessories closets with too much “stuff”… Starting off this way was a great jumping off point, but once I got a taste I wanted more! I found some fun trends to dive into (like “Build a Bag” a line of bags and adjustable straps so you can customize your bag and the “#charming” Charm Bar) which I felt were best suited for a retail shopping experience. So ELEVEN11 forked into 2 thriving small businesses! The Accessories Subscription Boxes and the Retail Studio AKA “The HQ.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Westport, CT… I would start with Brunch at Terrain Cafe and a stroll around the store and gardens…
A morning chill session at Compo Beach…
Off to shopping at ELEVEN11 Accessories, Penfield Collective (Fairfield), and I always think Anthropologie in Westport is a must see… they have restored a historical building on our Main Street and it’s just fabulous!
Lunch at Amis downtown with Chef Jess…
I would DEFINITELY book a relaxing facial at New Beauty and Wellness with Jennifer Adell…
Cocktails and dinner at Artisan in Southport…
Maybe a game of Pool at the Horseshoe if you’re up for more fun!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There were so many people that have supported me in my inception and development. I have to acknowledge two. First and foremost, my mom. She pounded the pavement with me, listened to every idea, brainstorm, and proof read all my copy. She wasn’t afraid to say “think about what you’re doing” when I was headed for a hiccup and she has been there to help me celebrate the successes… Second, a web business is only as good as its web design! My website was designed and implemented by a dear friend Jack Manno at Troupe Agency who totally gets my vision and delivered a very user friendly, beautiful site!
