Meet Anoosh Javaherian, MD | Anesthesiologist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anoosh Javaherian, MD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Java, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
As a physician working at Yofi Ketamine Clinic and Yofi Mind Health, the journey to starting this clinic was inspired by a convergence of clinical knowledge, research insights, and a deep sense of empathy for patients facing life’s difficult challenges. We aimed to address the serious need for mental health care treatment, specifically severe depression, suicidality, and anxiety in the Los Angeles area.
When we began hearing about the benefits and relief from depression and anxiety that people were experiencing from ketamine and Spravato at Yofi Ketamine Clinic, as well as TMS at Yofi Mind Health, we were inspired to dive deeper. We initiated treatments in our clinics in Agoura Hills and Encino for a select few patients. After witnessing the positive impact it had on their lives, we knew we had to be more involved in helping our community treat their mood disorders.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Yofi Ketamine Clinic and Yofi Mind Health apart from other mental health clinics is the genuine care we have for our patients and our commitment to addressing the serious mental health complications that plague our society. It has always been a priority for us that our patients feel safe, comfortable, cared for, and at home in our clinic. Our empathetic, caring staff goes the extra mile to make that happen, and we are incredibly grateful to have like-minded individuals working with us. When patients provide feedback, along with tremendous success stories regarding their depression treatment, that is an area they frequently point to. Most of our care team have experienced our own treatments and are able to connect with our patients on a deeper level, helping guide them through the treatment process.
What we are most excited about is what comes next for us. As we explore the many ways we can make an impact on patient lives, we’ve incorporated other treatment methods in our clinic, focusing on mental health and wellness. We have added TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) therapy, medical management, therapy, and genetic testing to our services. With this expansion of services, we hope to provide more alternative options for those suffering from common mood disorders and be an even greater resource for the wellness of those in the Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Downtown, Agoura Hills, Thousand Oaks, Calabasas, and Los Angeles community.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a good friend were visiting us here in LA, I would want to make their experience memorable, starting with food. I love diners, so The Apple Pan and Mel’s Diner are musts. Sushi is another must, so I would also take them to Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo. I also love art and nature, so I would take them to Descanso Gardens, The Getty Villa, and Franklin Canyon. Other staples I’d like them to see are the Santa Monica Pier, Venice Boardwalk, and Griffith Observatory. Depending on the season, I would suggest catching a game at Dodgers Stadium, and of course, we might just need a day at Universal Studios as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My inspiration for involvement in the mental health field comes from a dear childhood friend of mine named Michael. Michael suffered from severe depression growing up, and in high school, took his own life. Losing Michael was incredibly hard for me. Because of this, I was motivated to become more involved in the mental health space, and in college, I started working for the national suicide hotline. I have been dedicated to continuing work in helping those suffering from depression ever since.
