Meet Anthm | Music Producer / Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthm and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthm, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue an artistic/creative career because nothing else satisfied my soul. I moved to LA when I was 18 years old, only a month after graduating high school, with zero financial support. I knew my whole life I was a creative individual and that I had a deep love and passion for music, but I had a lot of self-doubt about not being good enough. I’ve now lived here for 10 years and have worked every type of job imaginable, many of which I was successful at. Despite having some success, I never felt fully fulfilled. Growing up, music had gotten me through a lot of hardship, and I quickly realized the power it could have. Since I had gone through such trying times in my own life, I felt I could use music to help others in the same way it had helped me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel like what sets me apart from others is my drive. I am extremely driven, and I don’t stop until I get what I want. I am most proud of the music I have been creating over the past year. I have been working with a group named “PRYZ.M.” I had taken a break from creating music for a while after not being satisfied with what I was producing. My friend who started PRYZ.M had taken me to Burning Man 2023, even though I had originally planned on not going; the experience lit a fire under me, and when I got back, I started producing some of the best work I’ve ever done. We made a few songs together, the first is called “Bounce” and will be out at the end of May 2024. Our latest song we made together brought tears to my eyes after it was finished. My musical journey has been extremely difficult, finding the right sound and self-confidence, but what I’ve learned along the way is to never give up. Life is too short to not pursue your dreams!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My go to’s for nightlife would have to include Sound Nightclub, The Dime, Spotlight, Level 8, No Vacancy, and Davey Waynes. Always good choices in my opinion. If I had someone visiting me for a week I would have to take them out. I’d also take them to Runyon, Malibu, the Griffith Observatory, and the Santa Monica pier to give them the full LA experience. Some of my favorite restaurants are Le petite four, La Boheme, and El Compadre.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my friends and family, I feel lucky and blessed to have such an amazing support system of other creatives.
