Meet Anthony Chauncey | Filmmaker and Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Chauncey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand is “Consistency and Focus” Here’s an example I’ve never been a consistent TV watcher from the time I went to college. I knew from that time it would distract me from doing what I need to do for myself. I also stayed patient as I made the necessary small steps before getting to the bigger ones .

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart and which is related to my fo being focused and consistent as I mentioned earlier is my 1,500 videos on youtube and 1,000 songs on music sites that i’ve written with many different singers and musicians. I ve gotten to where I am by being a person who was able to organize people and bring them together to achieve my goals . I believe that comes with being a “people person”. It wasn’t easy, it couldnt have been with a minimum wage single parent mother leading the way . The fact that she had the assistance of her sister and mother when we all moved in together is what helped to overcome the challenge and make success a reality. The lesson learned in this particular situation is that known statement ” It takes a village”. In this case that village was my family . What I want the world to know about me and my brand and my story is ” YOU CAN MAKE IT IF YOU TRY”. In order to do that you must have proper guidance . guidance that is diverse and full of love and encouragement that my three women household gave me . Then you must take that guidance and believe that you can be as good as anyone if you stay consistent and focused .

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first take a visiting friend to the typical Hollywood sight seeing places . Hollywood Blvd Walk of Fame and chinese theatre footprints. Next Venice beach which is such an interesting diverse place especially the Venice Canals. Being African American I would then go to the afro-centric Leimert part area a one of a kind place especially on sunday…At night I would do the many unique clubs in the city that had bands ..I would eat in all the multi cultural unique places that the LA area has to offer Based on being a stay for a week I would then drive down the coast for two or 3 days and go to all the stops alonhg the way San CLemente San Juan Capistrano Oceanside Carlsbad Ecinatas La Jolla COve and Sand DIego

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
MY mother encouragement to be different and creative. This encouragement was shown by sacrifice not just words .
