Meet Anthony Hernandez | Barista & Social Media Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Working in the coffee industry for 4 years as a barista has taught me everything I need to know about coffee and what I need to start a small business. I’m a risk taker , and one who does not feed into negative energy or language. I’ve been doubted most of my life, even by my own family. Once I found something I was passionate about I took my time , even gathered a following on social media along the way which was a big help in promoting my own business. Once I had enough funds I went straight for it with no hesitation. Got all the legal documents I need to start my business and from there i started “Infernal Coffee” but the job isn’t finished we will continue to serve our amazing horror themed specialty coffee and matcha.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I do consider myself an artist. I act, make coffee , i just love creating. I love getting a reaction out of people when they see my videos or drink the coffee I make them. I started my little tiktok career once covid hit. Started doing silly videos and I do till this day. I want the world to know that it’s ok to be yourself. Go out there and do the things you love and dont let anybody tell you that you can’t. Just keep going and don’t wait for anybody. I’ve learned that you only need yourself in this life, maybe a friend that you truly trust and connect with.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love being at Disneyland, going on all the rides and stuffing my face with all the treats they got. I also love exploring new coffee shops and trying different lattes that they have. Here in Los Angeles there are unlimited spots to try whether it’s a food spot or dessert shop. I don’t necessarily have a favorite spot because I’m everywhere. I do love Korean bbq and Dim sum. My favorite dish would have to be Siu Mai. It’s a Chinese pork dumpling.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Nobody helped me with this, not my parents , not my uncles or tias , nobody. I did this on my own and with the help of my girlfriend. So the person I want to shoutout is ME. I’ve been treated as a joke. Nobody thought I was capable of doing something like this but me , myself , and I. Your in a battle with yourself , you decide what you want to do in life. And what I didn’t want to do in this one life that we all have was quit. Because that’s not who I am.
