We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Hovsepian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
high-paying position as a Marketing Director at a well-established tax law firm to start my own digital marketing agency — from scratch, with no financial safety net and no guarantees.

It wasn’t an easy decision. On paper, it made no sense — I was walking away from stability, a steady paycheck, and a title I had worked hard to earn. But deep down, I knew I was building someone else’s dream, not mine. I had a vision for an agency that could be more creative, more nimble, and more personal — something that didn’t just deliver results but actually cared about its clients like partners.

The risk wasn’t just financial — it was emotional, too. It meant betting on myself fully. But I’ve learned that real growth doesn’t happen in comfort zones. Every win, every client relationship, every late night building this from the ground up — it all came because I was willing to bet on something bigger than what I already had.

Risk, to me, is not about recklessness — it’s about trust. Trusting your gut. Trusting your ability to figure it out. And trusting that the reward on the other side of fear is worth it. For me, it absolutely was.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I run a digital marketing agency called Anthony Media Group, and we specialize in helping brands grow through creative strategy, paid ads, content, and conversion-driven design. What sets us apart is that we’re not just another agency churning out work — we actually care. We treat our clients like partners, and we’re obsessive about results.

I started this business after walking away from a high-paying job as Marketing Director at a tax law firm. On the surface, it made no sense — but deep down, I knew I needed to build something of my own. I had no roadmap, no backup, just a belief that if I bet on myself and stayed consistent, I’d figure it out.

It wasn’t easy. There were months of uncertainty, self-doubt, and financial stress. But every obstacle taught me something. I learned how to sell, how to manage, how to fail fast, and how to keep going. I learned that relationships matter more than anything — and that real growth happens when you stay patient, deliver value, and don’t cut corners.

What I’m most proud of is the team I’ve built and the brands we’ve helped grow — from small startups to established businesses. There’s no better feeling than helping someone’s vision come to life and knowing you played a part in their success.

What I want the world to know is that AMG was built from the ground up — not with investors, not with shortcuts — but with hustle, creativity, and heart. And we’re just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 – Food First
We’d kick things off at Bread & Breakfast — one of my favorite client spots and hands-down one of the best brunch spots in LA. The croffles and coffee there are next level. After brunch, we’d stroll through The Grove and maybe hit LACMA or the Academy Museum nearby.

Day 2 – Beach + Booze
Beach day in Santa Monica or Malibu, then head back to the city and stop by Remedy Liquor in Glendale — not only is it one of the largest and most iconic liquor stores in LA, but the selection is insane. If we’re planning a night in or just want to stock up, that’s the place.

Day 3 – Local Gems in Glendale
Spend the day exploring Glendale — start with a chill walk through The Americana, and then hit up Boba Moba, another one of our clients and my go-to for creative drinks and a cool, laid-back atmosphere. Great pit stop before heading into the evening.

Day 4 – Arts & Eats
Spend the day in the Arts District — coffee at Maru, lunch at Bavel, then walk around and check out some galleries. At night, maybe something classic like Perch or 71Above for the view.

Day 5 – Eastside Hang
We’d hit Highland Park and Silver Lake — grab coffee at Go Get Em Tiger, walk around the reservoir, shop some local spots, then grab a casual dinner somewhere like Pine & Crane.

Day 6 – Day Trip Escape
If we need to reset, I’d take them out to Ojai or Joshua Tree for a change of pace, chill vibes, and maybe even catch a desert sunset.

Day 7 – Wrap-Up Day
We’d end the week back in Los Feliz or Echo Park — brunch at All Time, take in a final view at Griffith Observatory, and wrap it up with dinner somewhere special — maybe even a dinner party using some finds from Remedy Liquor to celebrate a solid trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to all the marketing firms that took a chance on me when I had zero experience — those internships were the foundation that gave me the confidence and skills to grow. I also want to thank every client who believed in me from day one. Your trust has fueled every step of this journey.

And finally, a special shoutout to the book The Gambler about Kirk Kerkorian. His story lit a fire in me — a reminder that bold moves and big vision can change everything.
