Meet AnZhane Nae” Burrell | Wardobe Stylist & Creative Director”

We had the good fortune of connecting with AnZhane “Nae” Burrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AnZhane “Nae”, how do you think about risk?
When I first use to think about taking a risk, I always use to get so much anxiety. Fear would also be at the top of that list as well. I remember the first risk I ever took was moving across the country to go to college, where I didn’t know anyone! It was the scariest thing, at that time, that I had ever done. I remember my dad dropping me off and at that moment it hit me, that I had to really figure it out by myself! Whew, was that the best risk I ever took. At that time is when I knew I wanted to go harder in the wardrobe styling game. I began to really make outfits on the ground in my room. Placing tops and bottoms paired with jewelry and bags and even shoe options. Putting together outfits was what I was so passionate about and I knew I had to be creative with how I displayed this talent with everyone.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Fashion has been apart of me for a long time now. From styling my friends, styling models for small brand photoshoots to even doing visual merchandising, wardrobe styling is where my heart is! The joy in making people feel and look good, is the best feeling ever to me. #StyleMeMonday has been something I have been doing for a long time, just showcasing new fashion trends, new styles on Instagram every Monday for a fresh start to the week! Styling has led me in many different directions and I am currently also a Client Advisor at Burberry. Here, I am able to style clients daily. Whether it be for a party, a vacation, a birthday, a first date, or a first-time buyer. During my short time here I have built a very strong client book. Burberry has been my favorite designer for years now and this has been such an enjoyable moment for me to be able to style people in the brand I personally love. While this will assist me in further expanding my styling abilities, I know that I am just getting started. Styling can be done in so many aspects and at so many levels, my biggest lesson thus far has been to always be yourself and believe in yourself. When you are confident in what you do, everything else will fall in line!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love my friends and I love when they come to visit me in LA. It’s always a good time with good food, a little shopping and fun nights out! We would definitely need to go to Joey’s DTLA, BossaNova, Berri’s and Wokcanos. All my friends are big “foodies’ and one thing they are going to want to do is eat good! For some outside shopping, The Grove always sets the tone or even shopping on Rodeo Drive, After a night out at EP & LP, Perch, or Lock & Key I would get tacos from Taco Mexico for the perfect nightcap.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I literally owe everyone in my village a piece of this answer. I wouldn’t be who I am or where I am today without God, my family, my friends who have become family, mentors, teachers, and anyone who ever crossed my path in these last 27 years. My village is literally my biggest support system and my main reason of “why” everyday.
