We had the good fortune of connecting with Aparajit C and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aparajit, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was a child being born in India, I’ve been told what to do and how to act, please the society always. No matter what, don’t have a life of your own. Live beneath others cause that’s how you respect the customs. Don’t even try to break these chains that hold you back. Never encouraged to be creative by my parents. Out of high school, I went straight to college and from then everything changed. I knew I wanted to be creative and express myself in artistic ways but I ended up with a degree in engineering while I made music on the side. During that time in college, I’ve been introduced to the concepts of self belief, positive affirmations and how to live a meaningful life which is satisfying to ourselves and adding value to those around us. I’m still learning about it each day even now. That along with some form of spiritual awakening made me realize quickly that sitting in front of a computer for hours wasn’t the path I wanted to pursue in life till I die, billion other people are doing it. If its satisfying to them, congrats to them but I rather live in a way I love to. I also tend to look at risk as an opportunity that most people won’t touch so it makes it actually more attractive. If there are a lot of people doing it and it’s easy, then it will be harder to be successful in my opinion. So being from India I came to the US and enrolled myself in an acting school. I’ve been told getting representation or managers is hard and they wont do it as I’m on a visa and there are million other actors in LA who cant land jobs. The limitations carried over even here but I never gave a fuck. I’m still here cause being creative makes me feel alive !!! That expression and unlimited space to wear what you like, say what you feel and connecting with people from all over the world is amazing! As I have grown in acceptance, love, and clarity of who I am and what I have been created to do, the world I’ve created for myself has become one that reflects the light of hope. This light is rooted in my belief in self. So I truly strive to express myself through music as an art form . Using which I’m keen on breaking boundaries , gettin people together as One and bring a positive change in the world we live in and make people happy. For writing music , I’m motivated by both the events that happen in my life and also contribute something to bring smiles. It gives me profound satisfaction. I feel all the people on this planet are so beautiful and unique .We all should be aware of it and always stay true to ourselves. If you feel what i write in my songs then connect with me in that feeling within a part of your heart.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I truly strive to express myself through music as an art form with absolutely zero limitations. Mostly because I’ve always been told to speak in a certain way, act in a. certain way so it made me rebellious with my music. I speak about things which I usually wont discuss or talk with others. So its a way of outlet I chose. For writing music , I’m motivated by both the events that happen in my life and also contribute something to bring smiles. It gives me profound satisfaction. I feel all the people on this planet are so beautiful and unique . I’m very proud of a song I wrote about discrimination of castes in India which I did in my native language Telugu, a subject which people don’t even want to talk and ignore like it don’t exist I wrote one song about mental health issues and suicides. I’m keen on breaking boundaries , gettin people together as One and bring a positive change in the world we live in and make people happy. The intention is always about expressing without compromising and staying truly myself embracing the process discussing in art form things which most others don’t know of or just ignore and I set myself apart from others.
