We had the good fortune of connecting with Apocalypsis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Apocalypsis, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
We really believe in what we do and what we want to achieve. Even when times are incredibly rough and incomprehensible, we know we’ll be able to keep pushing forward because we truly enjoy what we do.

There’s never really an end in sight as long as you love what you do and truly believe in it. So…KEEP. GOING! It’s worth it. Trust us.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well we know our sound tends to be a bit random but we also keep an intense attitude through each sonic adventure.

That might be something? Although we’re no different than anyone else who picks up an instrument and says, “Yeah I wanna do this! Where do I gotta play? What do I gotta do?!”

All in all it hasn’t been easy and it still isn’t. We still have a ways ahead of us but we’re in love with music and art. It’s something we wanna be apart of for as long as we can create it.

And if we can inspire others who need that sort of encouragement or if we can be the ones to let you know that it’s possible against all odds, that’d be the cherry on top of this intensely layered cake. Haha!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well for starters, it’s never complete without heading over to In-N-Out (assuming they’re from somewhere without it). With a trip to Venice Beach, where you’d probably run into OTTTO or Dan & Terry from Juice Magazine.

Then just exploring via bus, train, or cruising down boulevards just to see the immense diversity of L.A.—especially a cruise down Whittier Blvd. in East Los (our home).

Then as the weekend rolls around you can hit up The Smell, Space City Vintage, Moroccan Lounge, some backyards, or whatever’s got an exciting show with a sharp atmosphere.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well for us, we’ve had tremendous help from our peers who in their own right have their own success in this peculiar yet charming province.

Wenzdaze & Reb Kennedy from Wild Records helped us a TON with truly embracing our diversity as people and artists. Which would’ve never happened had it not been for Sam from Samodiva. That whole posse connected us with everyone else like Spunk for example.

And in the other neck of the woods, we had bands like Boryoku, Multo, PrayForDeath, & Wasted Eternities who took us in and introduced us to their audience and friends.

Most importantly every last homie, family member, promoter, and venue who give us a chance in every way possible to do our thing. We like to believe in the butterfly effect when it amounts to our success. Because without the same people, total of time, and every experience—we would never be here in this article!

We truly couldn’t be more grateful.
