We had the good fortune of connecting with April Bay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi April, what are you inspired by?
Love. Love inspires me. There are all sorts of love, platonic, romantic, self love, just to name a few. Love is the reason why a lot of us are here. It’s so inspiring. I also just read that the cotton buyer for Johnson & Johnson invented the band-aid for his wife because she would get cut frequently. So he combined two Johnson & Johnson products together, their adhesive tape and gauze to create a bandage his wife could use for her wounds. He invented that out of love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a person who has interest in rather polar opposite categories. I love fashion, beauty, true crime, paranormal, dancing, storytelling, the outdoors. While I haven’t found a way to combine them into one, I found a career where I can do all of those things in many different platforms, while being able to monetize my craft.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Sunday we would go to San Juan Capistrano to visit the mission there. Then we’ll grab a bite to eat next to the train tracks. They have an amazing restaurant where you can view the trains passing by. Then, we would drive up the coast to Laguna Beach. There’s a spot there where it looks like you’re in a different country. Very tropical looking. Then, we’ll grab some hot coco at one of the most awesome cafes along the PCH.

Monday we’ll go on a hike up to Griffith park. Then we’ll grab a quick bite at their cafe inside the observatory.
Then we’ll take a drive around Hollywood where I’ll point out all the supposed haunted spots. I’ll even point out where famous/infamous people lived or maybe even haunt to this day.
Afterwards we’ll grab some super expensive yet yummy food at Erewhon.

Tuesday we’ll hit up the beaches in Malibu. After a day at the beach taking cute photos, we’ll make our way to Vintage Grocers to grab some premade paella. Then if we have time, we’ll check out the Getty Villa.

Wednesday We’ll walk around Hollywood Blvd and check out all the touristy stuff. I’ll also show my friend how my hands match perfectly with Marilyn Monroe’s hands where her handprints are in cement.
Then we’ll get some Mexican food at Cafe Coyote. That’s actually where 1960’s actress Sharon Tate had her last dinner with her friends. Afterwards we’ll drive to Beverly Hills to pick out our future homes.

Thursday we’ll walk around Melrose and take some photos for content. We’ll bring a bunch of clothes and make a whole day/afternoon of it. Then we’ll go to a nice restaurant on Melrose or Sunset.
Afterwards we’ll go shopping at The Grove! And take more pictures.

Friday I’ll take them to Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Where a lot of famous people are buried. Then we’ll grab some diner food at Mel’s drive in. Afterwards we’ll drive up and hike to the Hollywood sign.

Saturday we’ll drive to the San Pedro Fish Market and grab some yummy seafood. Then we’ll drive to Long Beach to check out the very haunted Queen Mary ship.

Huge shoutout to my children. They love me unconditionally! They are who I work for! I do it for them. I mean, granted , what I do are things I’m passionate about, I found a way to work doing what I love so that I can keep working. Nonstop. All for them!
