We had the good fortune of connecting with Argelia Curiel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Argelia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I would say “follow your heart” whenever you hesitate if you should follow certain path instead of another, just take your time ,take a deep breath and reconnect with yourself, you will for sure get the right answer, do not force anything, you need to flow with whatever insight is being given to you by your intuition it could be a feeling a thought and image, and then you will know what is best for you and your life path.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Film, acting and healing are my passions in life, I had always believe that film could heal the soul, Good stories have the power to touch the heart and the soul and if one is ready ,they have the power to heal us. That is what I wanna do with my writing I wanna be able to trigger the body´s natural ability to heal with a good story. Since I was a child a wanted to be a story teller When i grew up I left my home Town in Mexico and went to Mexico city to pursue acting. I started acting school and some months after I got my first role in the Latin version of Gossip Girl called Gossip Girl Acapulco, more projects were about to come but my mind was dwelling on becoming a writer still . Some day a friend of mine suggested me to audition to Stella Adler academy of acting in LA, I did it and got accepted to what I call now My new beginning. Once in LA i felt in love with the magic of the city and decided to start Film School, I wrote and shot my first short-film on 2018 and it was a semifinalist at the Burbank film festival. now i am done with my first feature film and probably shooting at the end of the year. My biggest lesson in life is that consistency is the key no matter what happens you need to keep going and focus on your dreams, and always surround yourself with the right people, the ones that are supportive and care about you. there have been rough times in my life where I was afraid but thanks to those special persons in my life I was able to overcome my fear and get stronger.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Friday. I would start the day by taking my friend to have breakfast to the beach maybe to Malibu pier, after walking in the beach for a while I would take my friend to eat Thai food at Cholada and spend time in front of the beach while having lunch. Saturday. Next day I would take my friend to West Hollywood and spend all day walking and shopping, i would take them to Fred Seagal Mall and in the afternoon definitely would take her for a coffee at Dialog cafe and end the day with a nice dinner at Catch L.A. Sunday. Last day we would go to Marina Del Rey hotel for having a delicious Breakfast and then go Sailing at noon, with some luck we would watch some dolphins and enjoy the beautiful sunset in the boat. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wanna dedicate my effort to all the women in the film industry , I feel so proud that finally we are getting recognition in the industry , we deserve to shine and share all our talents with the world. I wanna thank my grandmother for always have being a strong and supportive figure in my life.
