We had the good fortune of connecting with Aria May and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aria, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always enjoyed making people smile. I would sing, dance, play ukulele, and tell stories of my adventures just to make someone laugh! It wasn’t until I started writing down my stories that I realized my adventures as a fairy were the perfect children’s book.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Tree Fairy born from an acorn in the tallest Oak tree of her fairy forest. My stories are unique because they are real! True tales of being a fairy, going on exciting adventures, and bringing along friends old and new. It can be challenging sometimes, once I was turned into a mermaid and THAT was an adventure, but I always found a way back home with a new story!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m very new to the city, I usually stay within my forest. However, I love visiting Runyon Canyon and I flew to Franklin Canyon Park!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout everyone I’ve met along my journey at Renaissance Faires, Fairy Forests, and the Children’s Book Section at the Library!
