We had the good fortune of connecting with Aria Saha (aka Kseniia Pereverten) and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aria, how do you think about risk?
“The Universe loves and supports more those who take risks” – I heard this from my very special friend and I loved it and I took it. Honestly, I don’t think that I’m a super brave person, and all my life I’m making huge steps forward with a little fear and kind of “closed eyes”, but doing it anyway! And I love to do it, because after all, I feel like a superhero (ha-ha-ha). Since I can remember myself I always dreamt big and always do. And with that willingness – you have to be ready to take risks. I could say that I’m thankful that I have enough strength and a good sense of humor to do it almost every day.
I moved to the US 2 years ago leaving back in Russia all my completed comfortable life, my successful career, my family and friends, basically everything, and moved to a New World. I didn’t have any strong connections here, my language was not so good, but I had a BIG DREAM and I made a decision. Now I’m 37 and I can say that my dream life just began here in California by making my dream come true in Hollywood!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I had a dream when I was a kid to become a successful actress but my parents didn’t take it seriously and didn’t support me in this, they said: “it’s not a profession for real life”. So, I had to put my dream on a hold and forget about it.

Leaving the acting dream behind, I’ve decided to become a show director and a creative producer. This turned into an opportunity to be working with top companies and world-famous and successful people from different industries such as fashion, world sports, movies, culture, business, entertainment, etc.

At the same time, I’ve been developing a musical project “Werewolf Family” that I have created with my ex-husband writing and producing one of the project’s songs “The World Is Calling Us”. Such a project got us to put on great shows in Russia as well as in the UK. Surprisingly for me and my project team the song “The World Is Calling Us” had been chosen by FIFA as an Anthem for the Confederations Cup Russia bringing another opportunity to perform on the biggest soccer arena in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

But then came a “wind of change”…
I had to go through the divorce. And it was a breaking point. It was the hardest time of my life and I thought that this is the end of my beautiful world but I still was trying to stay strong.

I remembered Steve Jobs’s legendary Stanford Commencement Speech about “connecting the dots” saying “You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.” This quote has given me the right direction. Now I understand that that difficult moment for me was not the end of but the Beginning of a real journey!

I was in depression for about a year but now I can say that it was not depression – it was the research of who I really am and who I really want to become. And BOOM! Here it is! I remembered my childhood dream! I remembered all my feelings about how much I wanted to be an actress, so a puzzle started to come together.

I’ve got into the best acting Ivana’s Chubbuck studio in Moscow, Russia, which wasn’t an easy experience as you have to pass casting auditions like in any other acting school in the world, and I’ve been chosen – I, who had no any prior acting experience at all.

Coming back to Los Angeles in 2018 I joined film acting classes at New York Film Academy but then I had to go back to Russia due to my student visa expiration date and running out of money but I already knew that I had to come back to California.

Returning to Russia wasn’t the same as it was before: I couldn’t work anymore as a show director and producer, to be honest, I didn’t want to, but I had to… A year later in 2019, I’ve got a message (out form nowhere) from my “big brother” Gulo that said: “Hey! Here is your one-way ticket Moscow-Los Angeles. You have 3 days to decide.” And it was a decision of my lifetime, here I am!

Flying back to LA at the beginning of 2019 was such as emotional and happy experience but… The entire world has been shaken by COVID-!9 pandemic and I had no choice but keep going and do what I love to do by studying acting and doing my 9 to 5 job remotely. After all, at the beginning of the year 2021, I’ve got my first lead role in the local Los Angeles theatre playing an American soldier and at the same time practicing my role for one of the coming-up movie projects.

In October of 2021, I was so proud of seeing myself on a big screen of the Chinese Theater in Hollywood during the movie premiere “Corona Viral Monologues” by Claire Huston, the daughter of Ivana Chubbuck, concept creator and the director. This movie has won many film festivals awards and nothing feels better as to be part of this movie.

Currently, I’m involved in three different movie projects created along with my fellow actors and friends. I don’t have any agent or manager yet but learning all these processes by yourself is the best experience you can get, trust me.

I still work at my 9 to 5 job which helps me to invest in my acting career getting closer to my BIG DREAM, it is just a matter of time. as we all say “Hard Work Pays Off”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
1. Universal Studios first of all! I am a huge fan of it! 2. Santa Monica beach – my #1 beach in California. He knows all my happiness and sadness!
3. Viper room – the best rock N Roll place in LA.
4. Petersen Automotive Museum
5. Thai Spa
6. The Academy (Beverly Hills), brazilian jiu-jitsu by Rigan Machado
7. Thien Hau Temple

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m blessed with people surrounding me. First of all, I want to thank my parents so much for the life they gave me, for my amazing childhood in a phenomenally beautiful place Ziryanka in the north of Siberia, for the love and values that they put in me. We used to “fight” a lot with my Mom (ha-ha) because we have totally different life views, but it also helped me truly understand who I am and what I want and what I don’t!
I want to thank my Boddie in crime, my friend and sister – Abla (Elena Masaeva), who is all my life with me and supports me like no one in this world!
I want to thank all my teachers in different fields, especially Michael Monks – brilliant actor and amazing acting coach who believes in me and supports me so much during all this time in the US.
I want to thank my “big brother” Gulo for everything he does for me, for his protection and faith. My Wonder Woman, my lovely friend Gloria Mamurov – phenomenal lady and great actress, for everyday inspiration she is giving me by following her dream no matter what is going on in life! I want to thank my best friend Ali for showing me that everything is possible if you believe it! And for 2 the most important things all friends should do – save each other and have fun together! THANKS to my WOW-Friend from Canada – Aleksandra Kimaeva, my real Partner in Cryme, for her wisdom and phenomenal sense of humor. And that she is a real friend who is ready to help you anytime you need! And I want to thank a very special person in my life, my friend and teacher – German Alcolea, who came into my life at a special moment and now is helping me a lot to grow as an actress and person, move forward without any fears!
I have a lot of amazing people to whom I want to say THANK YOU!
Thank you, dear “The Shoutout LA” for your interest and for everything you do for the people!
