We had the good fortune of connecting with aryy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi aryy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I think being a creative has always been a part of me, no matter what else I did, what I studied in college, what society wanted from me, being a creative has always been at the center. After graduating Dental School in Brazil and getting a Master’s Degree I had to choose: Do I want to pursue academics or do I want to pursue music?
I believe that to be truly successful in something I have to put my whole heart into it, and though I could see myself not living an academic life, I could not see myself not being an artist, so I chose to move to the USA and follow my music dreams
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I grew up in a small town in Brazil and my dad used to be a guitarist in a country band when I was really little, so I was always somewhat in the music world. I loved it, my dad was always listening to all kinds of music at home, especially rock and The Beatles. After my dad left the band and changed careers completely, I was still fascinated with music, but it took me years until I started actually making it.
I started Guitar lessons when I was 14 and opened a Youtube Channel right away where I shared covers and original songs I was writing back then.
Back in 2010, being a content creator wasn’t really a career yet, and so I went to college and graduated in Dentistry with a Master’s Degree in Endodontics. I thought I had to have a so called “real career”, but after that was done, I couldn’t see myself leaving music behind and so I moved to the USA to pursue my music dreams and finally started releasing my own music in 2020.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re visiting LA for the first time, you have to do the touristic stuff. It’s popular for a reason. Definitely go to Venice Beach, Santa Monica, hike the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory.
But after all of that is done, for sure do a bonfire at Dockweiler Beach in the Summer, hike El Escorpion Caves, and if you like Mexican food, you have to try Salsa & Beer, it’s my favorite restaurant.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I could not have done this without my friends and family’s support. I started posting videos online when I was 14 years old and although I see a lot of people sharing bad experiences online of how strangers gave them more support than the people they love, I can’t relate to that, as my friends and family were always my number 1 fans and supported me online and in person/shows etc since my young age of 14
