We had the good fortune of connecting with Aries and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aries, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
A favorite quote I live by is that “it’s better to try and fail then to fail not trying.” Most of us get stuck in our minds and create a negative space full of excuses as to why we won’t start something. we create our own prisons. Thinking is half the battle and doing is the other. Whether you believe you can or believe you can’t, you’re right. If we put more positive thoughts into believing in ourselves, we build our self-esteem to believe that we can succeed in the task at hand. If you believe you have the ability to accomplish a task, then you’ll accomplish it but if you believe that you don’t have the ability to do so, then you will fail. It’s all in the thoughts you put out to the universe. So even if there’s a slight chance you might not succeed because the odds seem stacked against you, it’s better that you tried, because even if you fail , You gain a lesson and an experience so that next time you come battle that task, you know how to better maneuver around it. It’s better to try and fail then to fail not trying because whether you think you can or you think you can’t. you’re correct.

My art is being a Music Recording Artist. As a kid, I grew up in a house-hold that appreciated the performing arts. My parents owned an Afro-Haitian dance company called “Arc-En-Ciel” ( which is the Creole word for “Rainbow”, In the Haitian folklore stories, rainbow often represented heaven). I grew up in this company. I learned to sing, dance and act. After gaining these new skills, I put them up to the test and got accepted to the Boston Arts Academy high school for the performing and visual arts. I graduated as a performing arts major. After high school, I graduated from Dean College School for the performing arts as a performing arts major as well. It was during my college years I dove in deeper into the world of creating music and acting. My whole life has been imbedded in the performing arts. I have many gifts, but music is the main highlight. What sets me apart from others is my ability to wear many hats at once. I’m a Rapper, Singer, Songwriter, Record Producer, Actor, Film Director, DJ, MC, Dancer, Entrepreneur and Fashion designer. Each one of these titles required time, dedication and many life lessons that played a huge role in who I am today. I’m most proud of being able to actually connect with my listeners. hearing their experience and stories connecting to my music makes it more real, and I’m excited about the future. I may not know what the future holds, but I have faith knowing who holds the future. The way I got to where I am today professionally, was not easy. I grew up in the performing arts community that nourished my skills at a very young age, so it was an easy decision to choose this music world but the work is where the real energy is put in. Certain obstacles were really tough, but I never thought about giving up. I got through using consistency and determination. what comes easy wont last long , and what last long, wont come easy. I knew it was going to take time to get where I am right now so I put all my trust into consistency and determination. I’ve learned many lessons along the way, like how you have to know when it’s time to turn the page. Many people have hard time pushing forward for many reasons; fear being one of them but even with fear, you have to push forward. Sometimes, pushing forward means removing certain people from your life. The hardest thing to learn in life is knowing which bridge to cross and which bridge to burn. Not everyone is meant to stay in your life forever. Sometimes you have to forget how you feel, remember what you deserve and keep pushing forward. One thing that I want the world to know about me is that with me, it’s all about being 100% with yourself. I’m me and I’m happy with that. I am what I am and I say what I feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind. Change the world by being yourself. One thing that I want the world to know about my brand is that it represents every person who takes pride in his or her own personality. Yes, we all share some common traits but the real magic is that we are unapologetically unique. This is where your true self shines.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time, we would start off at the recording studio. I like to keep a small circle of friends and we share the same passion, so anytime there’s a chance to creatively vibe and create, then I’m there. Of course between the recording sessions food is a necessity, so if we’re thinking burger and fries, I would have to go with Mels drive in. Other than that, I’m not the best tour guide. a lot of my fun comes from my craft and doing what I love. It just so happens the ones in my close circle share the same interest. In the end of the day as long as we’re vibrating on the same level, it’s going to be a good time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to a choreographer named “Jeffrey boom Louizia”. It’s a breath of fresh air to see how much of an impact he has been in the performing arts community. His ability to inspire the masses is astonishing and his continuous Involvement in the performing arts community plays a huge pivotal roll in the lives of those he’s moved.
