We had the good fortune of connecting with Arriane Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Arriane, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
“It’s time for me to leave the company.” I was shaking as those words came out of my mouth. I had been with this amazing fashion company for over 12 years and had a great career in sales and marketing. I had plenty of money, insurance, the best co-workers…it was a glamorous job from the outside eye. But inside, my heart was hurting. I knew that even though this career was fabulous, it wasn’t what I was truly here to do. I was miserable every day. So I left. I jumped off the cliff with no safety net. Has the journey since then been puppies and rainbows? NO! It’s more like tumbleweeds, rainstorms, some sunshine, a deer in the road, more sunshine, then an earthquake…you get the picture! And I would take that leap of faith 1000 times again.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Many entrepreneurs and coaches want to be a confident, empowered leader in their industry, making an impact. In order to do that, they need to create videos for their business where they look great and feel confident on camera. That’s where I come in. As the creator of Lights, Camera, Cash Coaching Program, I help people overcome their fears of being uncomfortable on camera and become the confident and inspiring leader they’ve always wanted to be. The road to success as a Coach has not been easy…there have been many challenges along the way– and probably the most important opportunity has been to really own my power and expertise. I really have learned to not take things so seriously. The more fun I am having, the more fun my clients and audience are having! Creating a successful business to me takes confidence, consistency and clarity. And all those things can be learned! That is my mission, to help entrepreneurs rise into the greatest version of themselves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Los Angeles is so much fun…it’s just like you see in the movies! Of course everyone wants to see Rodeo Drive, and it is just as glamorous as you think it is! We always drive out to Malibu, hopefully for some star-sightings, and enjoy the beautiful beaches there. A long bike ride along the strand in Santa Monica is the perfect afternoon to relax and people watch. Of course, we always go to yummy restaurants, with all the outdoor seating it is so fun to have dinner on a beautiful night out!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
You know when something just calls to your heart and you don’t even understand why? That’s what happened to me when a friend said she was going to get a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology. I didn’t even know what that was, but I said “I want to do it too!” So I did. After two years, I had a M.A. in Spiritual Psychology from The University Of Santa Monica. This work has profoundly transformed my life and continues to every day. Because of that program, I have created a successful career as a Coach and as a working Actor in Hollywood as well. I am a girl from Kansas, I never dreamed this would be my life, and a big part of it is the heart-centered work I did at The University Of Santa Monica.
